Bad days happen sometimes. Perhaps someone rear ended you on the way into the office, you ran out of coffee on the morning that you really needed it, or you spilled something on your favorite white jeans. We know, life can sometimes suck. Sorry for that, but I do have 5 simple ways to improve your mood regardless.
1. SIP SOME CAFFEINE
I seriously think it’s a mental thing—why I need that cup of caffeine in the morning. But, having that pick-me-up really does improve my mood. I’ve been trying to stay away from teeth-staining drinks like coffee and dark sodas, so I recently switched my morning drink to delicious Sparkling Ice® +Caffeine and it’s mood changing. This new product has 70 mg of caffeine that compares to one 6 fl oz cup of coffee, and you don’t have to wait for the coffee pot in the morning. I keep one in the fridge at my office as well since this isn’t an energy drink and is perfect for helping you to beat the midday slump. Plus, it’s not high in calories or sugar like an energy drink or a cup of coffee. I found all 5 flavors at my local Winn Dixie and they were less than $2 each! Here’s a coupon you can use if you want to try them out for yourself.
2. CALL A FRIEND
Sometimes a talk with a positive person can really improve your mood. Having a listening ear to vent to, or talk through whatever you are feeling is really helpful for most people. I feel like my mood really brightens up when I talk to one of my best friends, or my mom during the work day. Plus anytime I’m feeling down, I just give my bestie a call and it totally makes me feel better.
3. DRESS UP
This is one of the biggest ways I boost my mood, and I feel like this works for A LOT of women. We all enjoy feeling pretty and good about ourselves. When you dress up in an outfit you love, do your hair, and just get yourself all dolled up, then you feel AWESOME! I suggest getting dressed up in the outfit that makes you feel like a boss babe and then do a twirl in the mirror. Give yourself a compliment, and then go and take on the world for the day, or night. Trust me, you will feel so much better.
4. TAKE A WALK OUTSIDE
Stretching your legs and getting some fresh air can really improve your day. Sometimes I take a walk from my office to wherever I’m going to have lunch nearby. This gives me a chance to get some sun on my face and some exercise, which releases endorphins and improves my mood. Try using your 15-minute break at work to go on a short walk nearby. You may be surprised by how good it makes you feel.
5. BUY SOME FLOWERS
Who says you have to wait for someone to send you flowers? Having a fresh bouquet of flowers to brighten up your desk or your kitchen table can really make a girl smile. Next time you are feeling low, head out to your local grocery store (for me, that’s Winn Dixie) and get yourself a bouquet of flowers. I love the selection of affordable flowers at the Southeaster Grocers near me; I felt like these gorgeous burgundy ones were perfect for fall.
While you are out picking up your flowers, perhaps you are feeling the need for #1 on this list as well. Then head on over to the display near the beer & wine section of Winn Dixie. I couldn’t find them at first because they are pretty new, but the employees were really helpful in directing me. You should find all five flavors of Sparkling Ice® +Caffeine; my personal favorite is the Strawberry + Citrus. If you try these out, leave me a comment on which one was your favorite. Also, let me know if you have any other ways that someone could improve their mood! Can’t ever have too many.
