Last week we celebrated the end of Miami Swim Week in style with a beach picnic. It was a very dreamy morning spot on the end of South Beach, if only it had been cooler out! South Beach Tavern, located about a block from the beach, provided all of the food and wine. They have some amazing platters which are perfect for a picnic and for sharing. We even went back there later in the day to check out the ambiance of their bar and to try more of their delicious food. FYI every weekday they have half priced drinks from 5-7 pm, which is a great deal since Miami Beach can get very pricey. We also had the most delicious macarons I have ever tasted by Janette & Co. I can’t wait to have my cousin taste some when we go back for her birthday.

We used a palette for our beach picnic table, which we covered in a white table cloth. There was a beautiful handmade blanket from Goldfinch, crafted by artisans in Namibia, which we layered with some other blankets. We also used shells, gold coral shaped pieces, throw pillows and decorative melamine plates and acrylic cups to set the table with. The color scheme of light blue, aqua, and white paired perfectly with the lifeguard station we used for our bit of shade on the beach. I definitely suggest having an umbrella if you don’t have some kind of shade for your beach picnic.
