Just another manic Monday, wish it were Sunday. I am starting this new series on the blog, which will be a mix mash of things. I might talk about some of the things that I am currently loving and want to share with you all. I may make it a post where we can discuss fears and thoughts on things going on. It might also be a work wear fashion post for starting off the week on the right foot. All I know is that Mondays can be one of the most hectic days getting back to the grind, and some of us get the Monday blues. I am hoping I can combat that as much as possible with these manic Monday posts!
This week I want to share 5 things I am currently grateful for. This might seem a bit silly, but with everything going on, I thought it might make someone laugh. Or, even make us realize the things that we should truly be grateful for.
1. TOILET PAPER
So we have three rolls left in the house and I’m grateful that we buy the Mega rolls from Charmin. We aren’t stressing about getting more until we get down to our last roll. I’ve told the kids worst case we can start using rags and I’ll make them do the rinsing before we throw them in the washer! Hahah just kidding, but for real has anyone had a hard time finding toilet paper that actually needs it? I hear that people are robbing toilet paper trucks. Can you believe that?
Inmate #1: So what are you locked up for?
Inmate #2: Oh, I stole some teepee!
2. FOOD
Grocery workers and healthcare workers are the superheroes right now. I spent about $300 last week at the grocery store, and probably a quarter of that was alcohol. I have to have something to keep me occupied, no judgement zone ok. I won’t be driving hehe. Any ways I am really glad that the fridge and shelves are stocked because I live with two growing boys that like to eat me out of house and home. I actually have to keep the gushers on lock and key, or they will be gone on day numero uno. I purchased mostly non perishables, so the New Year’s diet went flying out the door. Is everyone doing ok on groceries? I know this can be hard with kids being out of school, so I do want to donate some things to my local food pantry. It’s a great time to give back if you can afford to.
3. THE PEOPLE I LOVE BEING SAFE
We are all safe and sound at home. No one I know has been affected by the Coronavirus and I’m super grateful. The kids are kind of pissed that I’m not allowing any sleep overs and they can only play outside with friends in the neighborhood. I want to make sure my family stays safe though and that means as much social distancing as possible. Are you social distancing? If you want any information on Covid-19 and everything going on, here is where you can get more information –> HERE.
4. WORKING FROM HOME
I have actually been very productive. I created a schedule for myself, so that I make sure I get everything I need to get done for my bosses. I also have been able to multi task a lot more which is great. The dishes are staying done, my kitchen is clean, and there’s no dirty laundry. I have been traveling around the house with my laptop too if I get bored. Working from the lounger on the patio is a pretty nice view, plus I can get a sun tan.
5. LESS DRIVING
I guess this really should have been number one for me. If you know me well, then you have probably heard me say a million times how much I can’t stand to drive. No commute time means so much more that I can get done in a day too! I would stay quarantined forever if it meant I didn’t have to drive. Or, hopefully I will just win the lottery and I can afford to get a chauffeur.
