I have always been a budget conscious shopper. It’s one of the reasons that I became an accountant. So when I shop for clothing, I really hate to spend too much money. Especially, since I always like to wear new things and buying a new outfit constantly is not realistic. Keeping up with the Jones’ got me into too much debt. However, there is a smarter way to savvy shopping…it’s called Rent the Runway! Not only is this an affordable way to amp up your wardrobe on a monthly basis, but it’s actually a great way to shop sustainable...

I am an avid Nordstrom shopper. I have been shopping there for years because I grew up in Cali and that was the department store my Dad always took me to. I don’t have a Nordstrom convenient to where I live now, but there are multiple Nordstrom Racks and since the prices there are even better, I tend to shop there a lot. I wanted to share some shopping tips though, for when you are browsing at the Rack. There are so many things to know about in order to get the best deal, or to even understand different...
I have this love and fascination for winter coats, even though I live in Florida where 95% of the time I can’t wear them. This is one reason I don’t like to spend a lot on coats, even if it is for something lasting. Trends change and I always seem to want something new and fun, or the new color of the season. I have some really amazing winter coat options listed below that are all less than $50! TEDDY JACKET Faux Fur Open Front Teddy Coat: SheIn REVERSIBLE COAT Reversible HoodedTeddy Coat: SheIn OVER-SIZED COAT Pocket Front Solid...

One of the best pieces of furniture that my husband invested in for me, has been a bar cart. He surprised me for my birthday last year and got me exactly the one I had requested to match our coffee table. It has wheels and moves easily from room to room because sometimes I use it for photo shoots, as an extra portable table, or as a mini buffet. It’s a great transitional piece, which is always worth the investment! Also mine was only about $150, so very affordable in my opinion. Styling a bar cart doesn’t require too...
Christmas is more than opening presents from Mom, or Santa under the tree, but these holidays can sneak up on the most well-prepared parents. Those few weeks between Thanksgiving and New Year’s really do pass by in one big, festive blur. Before you spend another year just going through the motions, why not start a few family traditions you can always revisit, time and again? From Christmas decorating to matching PJs, these ideas aren’t that hard to pull off or even super time-consuming. Each of these add just enough holiday magic that you and your family will truly look...
As much as they are cheerful, the holidays bring so many expenses. Holiday parties, family travel, decor, and presents. Without a pre-made budget, this can easily get very expensive and on top of the holiday expenses you still have normal bills! No wonder so many people sink further into debt during the holidays. It may be too early this year to get a budget and savings plan in place, but it’s never too early for next year. By setting a holiday budget and putting money away up front, you avoid that post-holiday money hangover. The earlier you start, the...
One thing I love to do around the holidays, is to travel with my family. I don’t like to travel too far because we have a lot going on, but it’s nice to get a short break away just the four of us. Since we have season passes to Universal Orlando, one of my favorite things is to spend a weekend, or at least a full day out at the parks. With the time of travel, traffic, and parking, we like to stay at a hotel right there every so often. This is exactly why we picked Hyatt House...
Today is the first day of December and the kids just broke out their advent calendars to start counting down to Christmas day! Since, I recently finished decorating the house and it’s time to get into the holiday spirit, I thought I would share some of my favorite Holiday movies with all of you. These are all classics and will bring Christmas sooner than you think! Charlie Brown Thanksgiving – I normally have this movie playing in the background while we are cooking for Thanksgiving. My kids really enjoy this one and it puts you in the Thanksgiving spirit....
One of my favorite things about trends is how designers start them, then smaller designers/brands mimic them at more affordable main stream prices. Another thing about trends though is how they don’t always stick around, so I am very budget conscious when I shop for trendy pieces. One trend that I think will stick around for a while though is the scarf print trend and chain print. These are trends inspired by the Hermes scarf, which is a classic and elegant brand. My girlfriend Miki styled a gorgeous scarf print outfit here, and when I saw this gorgeous Tibi...
