DAY 10 FEMININE - 31 DAYS OF OUTFITS

Today's card from the 52 Days of Style deck is about wearing something feminine. Maybe try adding something in a feminine color to your outfit for the day, or spice it up with some ruffles and lace. I opted for florals and a big bow, plus some fun pink velvet Jimmy Choo kitten heels.

DAY 9 TUCKING - 31 DAYS OF OUTFITS

Today's card from the 52 Days of Style deck is about tucking your top. This can really polish off a casual look just by tucking your t-shirt and adding a belt! I love to vary how I tuck my tops, so I decided to show you three fun ways to tuck your shirt.

DAY 8 PURPLE - 31 DAYS OF OUTFITS

Today's card from the 52 Days of Style deck is about wearing Purple. This is one of my favorite colors and I have really been loving this lavender color paired with green. Someone told me that this was a great Ariel inspired look and could even be worn for a Disney Dapper Day!

DAY 7 SNEAKERS AND SUIT - 31 DAYS OF OUTFITS

Today's card from the 52 Days of Style deck is about styling your sneakers with something different. This can be interpreted in different ways. I originally was going to pair my sneakers with a skirt, or a dress. However, I thought with it being a Monday I would pull a working city girl look and pair my sneakers with a suit.

DAY 6 SCARF - 31 DAYS OF OUTFITS

Today's card from the 52 Days of Style deck is about wearing a scarf. One thing that is really fun about this card, is there are different types of scarves to wear depending on the season. Since we are in spring, I chose to wear a silk scarf. There are quite a few ways to style a silk scarf too. I decided to tie my Up & Away By Me scarf in my hair.

DAY 5 MAXI DRESS - 31 DAYS OF OUTFITS

Today's card from the 52 Days of Style deck is to style a maxi skirt, or maxi dress. The maxi dress I picked is one of my favorite dresses in my closet, but I wanted to find a new way to wear it. I actually took one of my Tele-ties and tied the inside of the dress to change the style slightly. I turned my maxi from a loose caftan into a chic dinner dress.

Today's card from the 52 Days of Style deck is a lazy day, or casual day. This fell on a Friday for me, so heck yes for casual Friday! I went with some cozy joggers, sports bra, and a cardigan for working from home. But don't get me wrong...if you send me one text about mimosas, or brunch...I can be ready in like 5 minutes.

NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE 2021

Happy Thursday everyone! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is one of my favorite sales to shop every year. I know that a lot of items sell out fast, but that’s also because everything is such a great deal. I always tend to stock up on new basics that I need, a pair of new denim, high quality sweaters, or coats, and then add a few specialty pieces into rotation. A lot of items I have purchased from previous years are still in great condition and still in style since I purchase simple timeless pieces. I know it can be sad when items sell out before you have access to shop. However, if you keep your eye out, there end up being a lot of returns, or Nordstrom may re-stock certain items. I highly recommend shopping the sale and if you want to sign up for a Nordy card, then DO IT…because then you can have early access to shop. I don’t suggest this to purchase a ton of items and go into credit card debt, anyone without the card cannot shop until July 23rd and many items will already be gone. If you get the credit card in order to shop, then I still suggest making yourself a budget where you can pay off what you purchase the following month, or two so you pay none, or very little interest. You also will get a $60 Nordstrom note if you sign up now.

Two years ago I drove over to Tampa to shop the sale in person, however the store didn’t really get much in, so I decided to just shop online again this year. It does mean that I won’t get to do any try-ons with new items until they arrive later on, but here are some great pieces from last year that I found again during the sale. Either the exact pieces are available AGAIN, or there is something SUPER similar available. I'm also sharing a round up of the items that I just purchased today to add to my fall wardrobe.

Sizing and Height:

I often get asked my height and size which can help others around my size guess what size they should order, or even help you know whether to size up, or down. I normally wear a size XS/S and a 25 in denim. If I say something is “TTS,” that means “true-to-size” and means that I just got my usual size. As for height, I am 5’4 and with shoes I am normally a 7.5.

The variety pack includes a delicious Strawberry Lemonade flavor and a NEW Berry Lemonade flavor!

SPARKLING ICE LEMONADE BAR CART

There’s something about sipping on fresh lemonade on a hot afternoon… It takes me back to the days of neighborhood lemonade stands. As a kid I loved passing out glasses to the neighbors and drinking most of the profits myself. Even on a slow day I’d cool off with a refreshing glass of lemonade and watch for cloud shapes in the sky. This is what inspired me to create a fun mocktail to enjoy on your patio this summer.

SUMMER LEMONADE BAR CART

Sparkling Ice has 18 fizzy, fruity flavors with a splash of juice, colors, and flavors from natural sources, plus vitamins and antioxidants – and 6 of their flavors that have a little kick of caffeine. My personal favorite is the Lemonade, which is what I used to easily create this mocktail at home. I also included the recipe to make the blueberry syrup yourself, or you can easily purchase pre-made syrup at Publix, where you also can buy Sparkling Ice.

PUBLIX STOCKING SPREE WITH P&G - STOCK UP ON YOUR HOUSEHOLD NEEDS

This post is sponsored by P&G. All thoughts and opinions are my own,

Who remembers last year when we were first in quarantine? There were so many items in short supply. My mom always taught me not to over buy, but when you go without toilet paper, you learn what items to stock up on. Being a mom of two boys also has taught me to have extras tucked away to pull out, like when someone runs out of Crest toothpaste, or Olay soap. This is why I'm so grateful for a way to stock up with the Publix Stocking Spree and earn up to $120 a year in Publix gift cards!

Detergent is another staple that we go through regularly, and it always seems like we need more Tide & Downy! Plus, even though we are not entertaining like we used to, I swear we go through more cleaning supplies than I would like. I will say that having the kids home so much makes plenty of extra messes for me to clean up. Thank goodness for Mr. Clean, he's my go to guy!

When it comes to grocery shopping, I know we all love a good sale. But, there’s nothing better than being rewarded for buying the things you need anyway - like all the items I mentioned above. With summer being right around the corner and everyone at the house so much, we were running low on a few of our staple products. So, I headed to Publix and picked up things that I needed and I know I can be rewarded for purchasing!

Publix Stocking Spree is a program where you can be rewarded JUST for buying the products we already know and love. All year long, you can receive a $10 Publix gift card every time* you purchase $50 of participating Stocking Spree products (*Up to 12 gift cards per household, per year). Once you create your account, you’ll be able to track your dollars spent and your gift cards earned throughout the year. The more you buy, the more you earn!

It’s very easy to take part in the program and the list of products is available on www.stockingspree.com, so you can check out the participating products before you head to Publix. Take your list and purchase your products. Then when you get home, take a photo of your receipt, login and upload the photo of your receipt. I completed the process in less than 5 minutes! Once your receipt is reviewed and you have spent $50 on participating products, you get to claim your $10 Publix gift card. You can choose either a physical gift card, which will be mailed to you, or a digital gift card that will be applied to your Publix Digital Wallet. I personally love the digital option as you can receive the gift card in 24 hours and have it before your next shopping trip!

LIMONCELLO PROSECCO SANGRIA WITH MELON

Have you ever tasted an ice-cold glass of limoncello on a hot summer day? If so, you know how amazing this Italian liqueur can be. Mixed into a sangria with three types of melon, it’s quite possibly even better. This sangria tastes like summertime captured in one delicious pitcher.

LIMONCELLO PROSECCO SANGRIA WITH MELON

Some people make their own limoncello, however, I just purchased a bottle from my local Italian market. This will pair perfectly with an Italian Prosecco and compliment the melon and mint to bring all of the flavors together. My favorite Prosecco that's delicious and affordable, is Luna Nuda. You can get it at Publix for under $13 and to be honest, I prefer it more than a bottle of Veuve. If you aren't a sparkling kind of person, then you could always sub out the Prosecco for a bottle of the Luna Nuda Pinot Grigio.

LIMONCELLO PROSECCO SANGRIA WITH MELON

Make sure you pick ripe melons when you are at the store. I used three different types: cantaloupe, honey dew, and watermelon for flavor and to give vibrant color to the drink. These will give flavor and sweetness to meld everything together. I used a melon baller and scooped out as much as I could from the three melons. Then I laid them all out on baking trays to freeze as ice cubes.

LIMONCELLO PROSECCO SANGRIA WITH MELON

In a pitcher, mix together the limoncello, Prosecco, and frozen fruit. Clap the mint in your hands to help release some of the flavor and add that into the pitcher as well. After you pour the mixture into your glass, top it with a bit of the watermelon bubly for a light and refreshing summer drink.

Luna Nuda Prosecco and Pinot Grigio

Limoncello Prosecco Sangria

Lemon flavored sparkling sangria with melon.

  • 4 oz Limoncello
  • 1 Bottle Luna Nuda Prosecco
  • 1/2 Mini Watermelon
  • 1/2 Honey Dew Melon
  • 1/2 Cantaloupe
  • 1 Can Watermelon Bubly
  • Mint
  1. Cut each of your melons in half and remove the seeds from the honey dew and cantaloupe.

  2. Using a spoon, or melon baller, scoop out balls from your melons and lay them on a cookie sheet. Then freeze for 2 hours, or over night.

  3. In a pitcher combine your 4 oz of Limoncello and half of your frozen melon balls.

  4. Take some of your mint and clap the mint to release the flavor and add it to your mixture and stir.

  5. Then add in your bottle of Prosecco and can of sparkling bubly.

  6. Serve into glasses using the rest of your frozen melon balls as ice. Enjoy!

HOW TO STACK GOLD RINGS LIKE A PRO

Did you not think you were a ring person? Neither did I, put put some diamonds on those digits and just wait. There’s something a tad addicting about some sparkling accents on your fingers. You'll suddenly desire to stack them higher and higher and soon enough your fingers will be like Palm Beach real estate. When you know how to stack gold rings, it's the easiest way to take any outfit from basic to another level. However, they can still be for every day wear, to add the perfect panache to your look.

When you curate the right collection in your jewelry box, rings can give you endless ways to style your looks. Whether you are new to the game of learning how to stack gold rings, or you are a seasoned pro, I have some wonderful tips I'm willing to share. I'm also a fan of layering my jewelry in general, but we can start with this.

TIPS FOR STYLING YOUR RING STACK:

1. MIX & MATCH METALS
An all-yellow, rose, or white gold stack is always chic, and is an easy way to play it safe if you’re unsure about how to mix metals. But if you do decide to mix and match, the elegant way to pull off the look is by sticking to only two metals. Pick your dominant color, I personally love gold rings, then incorporate 2-3 pieces of your second metal color throughout your stack.

2. LEAVE AT LEAST ONE FINGER BARE
Piling on several rings can go from “chic” to “cheesy” real quick, so an easy tip to avoid going overboard is to stick to stacking on only four digits at a time. Leave at least one finger bare to create a cohesive and balanced look, instead of an I played in my mom's jewelry box one. I personally prefer to keep either my pinky or thumb bare, but depending on this rings, that's your preference.

3. VARY THE WEIGHTS, SHAPES, AND STYLES
A indisputable way to create visual balance in your ring stack is to mix different kinds of weights and shapes. Thick bands, chain rings, eternity bands… the list goes on. Just be sure that if you incorporate a statement ring, the rest of your rings remain much simpler so they don’t compete.

Now, let's see how to curate a ring stack you can’t stop looking at (and can actually afford)!

HOW TO STACK GOLD RINGS LIKE A PRO

THE PERFECT RING STACK

STATEMENT RINGS UNDER $100
This is normally what I build my stack around. I have two statement rings, my engagement/wedding band on my left hand and then a vintage ring (family heirloom) on my right hand. Starting with a bold ring on your ring finger means it can remain the center of attention as you build around it.

MIDI RINGS UNDER $100
Next up is one of the most fun parts of creating the perfect stack—midi rings! These itty bitty rings look right at home on the middle finger, and are a simple way to add some personality to your stack while also balancing out your look. I know it can be difficult to figure out the right size, but normally midi rings are generally size three and smaller.

ETERNITY BANDS UNDER $100
Eternity rings are quite possibly the most classic part of any stack. They always catch the eye, and there are so many different variations to choose from. Don't limit yourself to a basic cz, or diamond band! I’ve included some of my favorites here so you can shop them below, and if you want to really make a statement, get creative and stack a few on one finger.

STACKING RINGS UNDER $100
No stack is complete without just a few simple, gold bands. Whether you're on budget and get costume jewelry, or solid gold that you will keep for years, these are a must. Play with textures as well and mix some smooth bands with some hammered ones.

Rings are a great gift for a loved one this holiday season. Whether you are shopping for a promise ring, and anniversary band, a gift for your mom, or friends...you can't go wrong with a classy ring to add to their collection.

7 WAYS TO STYLE WHITE DENIM FOR SPRING

I know we aren't at Memorial Day yet, but I think a crisp pair of white denim really screams springtime. Plus who cares about old age fashion etiquette, you really can wear white all year long if you want. I have recently been loving that the wide leg jeans are coming back in style, not only are they super comfy, but it gives a very chic nonchalant vibe. My jeans here are almost sold out at Revolve, but I found some other affordable pairs as well to link if you are looking for some wide leg white denim.

LAVENDER FASHION FOR SPRING/SUMMER 2021

One of my favorite things about spring is the color changes. Not only does the earth itself start to bloom, but so does fashion. Gone are the deep dark shades of winter and along come the brights and pastels of spring and summer. Lavender is one of my favorite spring shades, as you can see from this photo taken two years ago.

2 SPRING COLORS YOU NEED IN YOUR CLOSET

Purple is a shade that’s most often associated with royalty. And while this year’s shades may bring a sense of regality or opulence, there’s an added meaning beyond the lilac and lavender shades of purple trending in the runway collections. There’s a need for lavender and other pastels because they are calming and we have a lot of chaos in our world right now due to covid.

Lavender's vibe tends to be a dreamy, almost fantasy energy that leans sometimes towards a more futuristic and avant garde style. However, the silouhettes I'm seeing this spring take a classic and boho approach. I am loving all the details and I linked a bunch of my favorites below in different categories. These are all from affordable retailers as well like Target and Forever 21.

10 AT HOME DATE NIGHT IDEAS

With Covid this year, or even for parents with younger kids, it's harder to plan a Valentine's date outside of the house. This is why I thought it could be really fun to have a list of ideas for dates you could plan at home. These could be a great starter if you are looking for something to plan last minute, since all of these won't take much to put together. I included a good round up of date night ideas for different types of people like the builder, the foodie, the intellectual, the traveler, and the Netflix and chill people.

AT HOME DATE NIGHT IDEAS

I really love to plan a gourmet meal at home. I don't get much time for cooking during the week, so this is a really fun way to cater to your partner when you get the time. You could also both cook together and do some fun wine pairings. If the weather is nice, then having a romantic picnic in the backyard can be really fun. With it being at your house you can actually make it fancy and use real dishes and a bunch of comfy blankets. If you do it in the evening you could lay and watch the stars afterwards. I loved going to Napa and testing out different wineries, so why not a wine tasting around the house. Pick up some different wines and set up areas around the house to walk around and try different ones. You could even make tasting cards that say something about the different wines you are trying.

AT HOME DATE IDEAS

An outdoor movie night is something my husband I normally love to do with the kids, so if you have some kiddos at home its a great date to include them in as well. Target has some great puzzles, so its really easy to stop and pick one up for a wine and puzzle night at home. A lot of places are doing the virtual classes at home, so you could see if there are any of the painting classes that you could pick up the supplies ahead and do the class from the comfort of your house. If you love to read, then perhaps you could pick out a book that you and your partner could read to each other. It's a great way to have conversation and use your brain. I have not listened to many podcasts myself, but I have heard there are a ton of mystery ones. This could be really cool to sit back, have a cocktail and enjoy a story in your living room.

Creating a bucket list together is a fun way to spend quality time with your partner and plan out date ideas that you both want to do. This is one I really need to do with my husband since we both enjoy very different things. I know as adults we always have projects we want to get done. Whether it's planting some new plants around the yard, or fixing something in the house, you could plan to do something together. This is a great way to spend time together and get something accomplished that you have been putting off. On the off chance that you can get out of the house for Valentine's Day, it falls on a Sunday this year, so it's a great day to go have a romantic brunch.

LIVING ROOM DATE NIGHT IDEAS

So tell me, which would be your ideal date night at home?

GALENTINE'S GIFTS FOR YOUR BESTIE

One of my favorite things around any holiday is shopping for my friends. I really love the look on someone's face when you surprise them with a gift they didn't even know they needed, or wanted. Not saying you have to give something huge, sometimes even a cute card is the perfect gift. However, if you happen to be looking for something cute and whimsical to give Galentine's gifts out to a bestie, or two, then I have a round up of items under $30.

WAFFLE MAKER | FACE MASKS | SLIPPERS | SWEATSHIRT | MUG | SOCKS

EARRINGS | BRACELET | BATH CONFETTI | PJ'S 1 | PJ'S 2 | PJ'S 3

This year my girlfriends and I didn't really do much due to Covid, but I still spent a day making cookies with one of my girlfriends, we gave each other a few cute Valentine's clothing pieces, and celebrated with a bottle of Champagne to end dry January. My other bestie and I are taking her daughters to brunch in order to celebrate their birthdays and Galentine's day early. The place I'm taking them to is all pink and girly, so I will be sure to dress up for the occasion as well. My nieces even though they are young, would love all of these items on my gift list too, so I do think these are good choices for a huge age range.

VALENTINES OUTFIT IDEAS - DRESSY & CASUAL

Could there be a more compatible color combo than Red & Pink? I think not my friends. Every year my heart gets giddy when I get to wear my favorite color of all time, PINK! Yes, I am a complete girly girl and have more pink in my wardrobe than any other color. It's probably lucky that I don't have a daughter, because she would look like Pepto-Bismol threw up on her. Any-who, I found so many adorable pink and red pieces this year that I wanted to share with you some great Valentines outfit ideas. Whether you are going out, or staying in; I feel like I have you covered. Some pieces are more expensive than others, but the things I splurged on I could wear into spring, or the rest of the year. More Valentines specific outfits I kept in the lower range, I never like to splurge on items that are too trendy. These could definitely be pieces you wear to a Galentine's event as well if you like to celebrate your girlfriends, or are single!

SWEATER SKIRT SET FOR WINTER 5 WAYS

I ended finding this amazing set because I saw someone wearing the skirt online. Then when I realized there was a matching top, I knew I had to get both pieces. I really love. good monochromatic look, but then I realized this was such a staple set for my wardrobe with so many ways to style. The temps have dropped here in Florida and I really wanted something that was super cozy and easy to throw on. However, this makes you look way more elevated than your sweats and a hoodie! I highly suggest getting a set like this, or a loose sweater dress that you could belt to make look like a two piece set. You will be feeling like you stepped out of a magazine and you won't even have spent a ton. I have found some other affordable sets and sweater dresses that will be sure to assist in rounding out your winter neutrals.

5 WAYS TO STYLE SPANX LEATHER LEGGINGS

Happy Hump Day!! We are half way through the week and almost done with Dry January, Yay! I can't wait to celebrate with a glass of Champs! However, by popular demand, I am bringing you instead a celebration of comfortable pants wear. These leather leggings by Spanx were probably my best purchase from the Nordstrom Sale this year. I know some people are on the fence about spending $100 on a pair of leggings, but I literally wear these at least twice a week. Plus, I think of them as a pair of pants, not just leggings. I am going to link some more affordable options as well from Nordstrom, H&M, Target, and Forever 21. Which, I don't know how the other brands compare in fit, but it's worth a try if Spanx isn't in your budget. Finally, here are my 5 ways to style Spanx leather leggings this winter!

6 WAYS - COZY WINTER STYLES

With the weather getting colder and colder, who doesn't want to be dressed in something cozy. I love sweaters around the winter time and holidays because it's so easy to throw on and you can be comfortable after eating all the holiday dinners. These are some cozy winter styles that I will be re-wearing all winter long, especially now that it's January and I'm back in the office where the AC gets cranked up high. You may already have some similar items in your closet from last winter, so I suggest shopping your own closet before hitting "add to cart". But, if you do need some new pieces, or are going on a winter trip, then these are some great quality pieces to add to your wardrobe.

HOW TO STYLE TWEED FOR WINTER

This winter I realized I have incorporated a ton of tweed into my wardrobe. I’ve always LOVED this fabric since I'm a huge Chanel fan, hello original Chanel suit. I swear just adding a Chanel, or dupe brooch, to any tweed look totally levels it up and makes it look WAYYY more expensive. These pieces are all under $30 though, so no worry about your wallet with these babies. These looks are totally giving me an Emily in Paris moment, if only I could pack my suitcases and jet off for a week. All of these affordable pieces are from Shein where you can use code Q4Nikki15 for 15% off your purchase! Keep scrolling for my tips on how to style tweed for winter.

5 NEW YEAR'S EVE STYLE OPTIONS

Are you still determining whether your plans are to go out, or to stay in? I'm doing a bit of both this year, safely of course. 3 WAYS TO STYLE SEQUIN PANTS NEW YEAR'S EVE

These sequin pants got asked about everywhere I went the other weekend, so I thought they deserved their own blog post. They were a tad expensive in the just under $200 category from Revolve, but I will keep my eye out and share if they go on sale. With three different sequin colors, being high waisted, and the fun wide leg...I just knew the ways to style were endless. My friend Laura came over and we raided my closet to find 3 tops I already had to create these looks. I wanted to encompass three different people's styles that way there was something for everyone. So whether you are more glam, sexy/sassy, or edgy/casual, there is something for you.

HOW TO STYLE SEQUIN PANTS FOR THE CLASSY GLAM GIRL

Here I paired the sequin pants with a satin camisole that was also from Revolve. It matched one of the colors in the stripe of the pants perfectly. I suggest also going with a nude heel and clutch for this look and some glam sparkle earrings.

SATIN TOP AND SEQUIN PANTS

Sizing: Pants - XS | Top - XS

HOW TO STYLE SEQUIN PANTS FOR THE SASSY SEXY GIRL

For the sassy, sexy girl I suggest a fun crop top to pair with these pants. You show off a little bit of skin, but not too much since the pants are high waisted. I picked a white sequin crop that I have had for 2 years from Forever 21, but I will link something similar. Pair this look with some black block heels and a black clutch.

SEQUIN TOP AND SEQUIN PANTS

Sizing: Pants - XS | Top - S (On Poshmark $10) (Poshmark $15) (Poshmark Med NWT $12)

HOW TO STYLE SEQUIN PANTS FOR THE EDGY GIRL

I really couldn't decide which outfit was my fave, but this one was pretty darn fun. I grabbed a graphic band tee from my closet and knotted it at the waist. Add some black tall wedges, a metallic clutch and some sunnies and your good to go! This is a look I feel like I could just wear out with the girls for happy hour too.

So tell me, how would you style these sequin pants?

INSTANT POT HOLIDAY MULLED WINE

One of my favorite things about the holidays are all the delicious smells. Growing up my great grandmother would make mulled wine for any holiday party, or when we came over for Christmas dinner. I remember the scent walking into the house, she made the whole place smell like a mix of cinnamon, nutmeg, and oranges. There is something about the smell of mulled wine, that is just so cozy, and that's what I want you to feel this holiday season.

INSTANT POT HOLIDAY MULLED WINE

When the scent fills the whole house, it's like an all natural Bath & Body Works air freshener. It eventually fades, and then you will just have to make another batch of this delicious mulled wine.

INSTANT POT HOLIDAY MULLED WINE

If you want to easily whip up batch, after batch of this mulled wine. Then I suggest you keep a batch of mulling spices on hand. Yes, you could make your own, but I just purchase them off Amazon. I will also include in the recipe what to use if you don't have mulling spices on hand. I decided to make good use of my Instant Pot this season and include this recipe, but don't fret...this can easily be made on the stove, or in a crockpot.

INSTANT POT HOLIDAY MULLED WINE

If you want to make this a tad stronger, then I suggest adding a bourbon, brandy, or favorite spiced rum. I used some bourbon whiskey in mine. Also, a quick tip, don't toss those boozy apples cooking in your mulled wine. Those make a tasty snack.

INSTANT POT HOLIDAY MULLED WINE

INSTANT POT MULLED WINE

Holiday mulled red wine with spices.

  • 1 Bottle Red Wine (Cabernet, Shiraz, Malbec, or Merlot)
  • 4 oz Bourbon (sub Brandy, or Rum)
  • 1 Orange (sliced)
  • 1 Apple (thinly sliced)
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 2 Star Anise
  • 1 tsp Peppercorns
  • 2 Tbsp Maple Syrup
  • 1 Tbsp Mulling Spices

IF YOU DON'T HAVE MULLING SPICES...

  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 1 tsp Whole Cloves
  • 1/2 tsp Allspice
  • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1 Tbsp Orange Peel
  1. Combine all ingredients (only half of the orange) in the Instant Pot and set to cook at high pressure for 1 minute.

  2. Carefully turn the steam valve to release all the pressure.

  3. If you prefer not to have the spices and fruit in your drink, just pour the mixture through a fine strainer, or cheese cloth before serving.

  4. Serve warm with orange slices, apple slices, and a cinnamon stick. Enjoy!

AFFORDABLE HOLIDAY STYLE 5 WAYS

Glitz and Glam are what I think about when dressing up for the holidays. Holiday glam can mean so many things, but I like to think it's something that makes us stand out from the crowd. Most of us love to dress up for the holiday season, but we also don't want to spend too much when we need to be shopping for gifts as well. I decided to help you out with some affordable holiday style from Shein. These 5 pieces are all under $30 and could even be re-worn outside of the holiday season.

Some of these pieces are a classic style with a twist. For example a blazer dress, which could easily be a basic office piece. Except this dress has lace sleeves (hello holiday style), and is Santa red. Then we have a little black dress, with velvet detailing and a sheer Swiss dot pattern overlay. This piece I dressed up a bit edgy, but I also plan on showing how to style it more girly as well for the holidays. Use my code Q4Nikki15 for 15% off your purchase!

MY MISSION STATEMENT - HOW TO WRITE YOUR OWN

Everyone has dreams and goals that they want to achieve in their lifetime. One of mine was to become a fashion designer, since that didn't go exactly as planned, I started a fashion blog instead. I've bounced around with what I wanted to offer on my blog, and even changed the name a few times. I was still searching for how I was going to serve others. That's when I realized I needed a mission statement for my blog, and maybe even for my life. Through this I also want to help you come up with your own personal, or professional mission statement to get you on the path you want to be.

MISSION STATEMENT WHITE BLAZER

MY MISSION STATEMENT FOR MY BLOG

Hi, I'm Nikki and I'm a Fashion, Finance, and Lifestyle blogger in Orlando, FL. Part of what pushed me to start my blog were the things I am passionate about. I love to give ideas for decorating and entertaining, share the most delicious yet inexpensive bottles of Champagne, or help you find affordable pieces to style for the current season. Being an accountant by trade, I am your go-to blogger for busy moms and career women who want to find quality fashion pieces on a budget salary. It's trendy to be fiscally responsible, and who ways you, and your home, AND your wallet can't look good while you do it.

HOW TO WRITE YOUR OWN MISSION STATEMENT

WHO I AM

Think of 3 words to describe yourself as a blogger, professional, or person. Do you wear a lot of hats? What fields do you tend to dabble in the most? I described myself as a Fashion, Finance, and Lifestyle blogger.

WHO I HELP

You obviously serve a target audience, but you need to narrow in on who that really is. What kind of people are you trying to reach? What is their age group, their area of interest, or even their gender? My main audience is made up of busy moms and career women who don't have a lot of time to be hunting for a good deal. These are women who love to look good, but don't really want to spend a ton of money all the time. This is why I share affordable and attainable fashion pieces for both casual days and the office.

HOW I SERVE

How are you serving your target audience? Are you someone who shares easy recipes, or are you a licensed professional that gives advice? Write down a few specific things that you know you are good at and that you could share with others.

Here are some ideas of what you may have to offer:

  • Legal, or professional advice
  • How to take photos
  • How to decorate on a budget
  • How to get organized
  • Capsule wardrobe

WHY

This "why" questions asks you - What will your readers get out of this deal? What is the positive impact you may have on the group that you have targeted. How will you fit into their lives? I fit into my readers lives by offering them a way to feel and look good while still being fiscally responsible. I am saving my readers money, which is why they keep coming back.

So tell me what is your mission statement? I would love to hear it in the comments below. Or, if you have any additional tips for others trying to create their own.

10 TRAVEL ESSENTIALS FOR A FALL TRIP

A fall weekend spent outdoors watching the leaves change is a special thing. With my trip to Blue Ridge, GA, approaching tomorrow I knew it was a good time to put together 10 travel essentials for a fall trip. My itinerary includes hiking, horseback riding, apple picking, and dinners fireside. I wanted to make sure I packed pieces that could be worn different ways, could be layered depending on the weather, and that transitioned from day to evening. You also want to make sure you are prepared for the change in weather and the unexpected, which is why I chose some of the non-fashion items on the list.

10 TRAVEL ESSENTIALS FOR A FALL TRIP

SWEATERS

Layer up. Don’t forget to pack a sweater, or cardigan for your fall trip. This piece will come in handy when the weather gets cooler and you need to start adding on those layers.

FAUX LEATHER LEGGINGS

No matter where you are traveling this fall, you’ll need to pack some leggings. A pair of faux leather leggings is appropriate for just about any occasion. This serves as the ultimate day-to-night wardrobe piece this fall.

CUTE COMFORTABLE BOOTS

One of my main essentials for a fall trip is cute boots. However, you want them to not only be able to take you from day to night, but be comfortable enough for walking an exploring. I normally pack myself 3 different types of boots. A pair of over the knee boots (that can keep my legs warm with skirts), leather ankle boots with a block heel, and a cute pair of hiking boots.

UMBRELLA

Autumn can also mean a bit of rain depending on where you are traveling. I highly suggest being over prepared and packing either an umbrella, or a rain coat to be safe.

WATERPROOF LUGGAGE

You can find rain, or snow in the fall depending on the time of year and how far north you are traveling. You don't want items in your suitcase getting all wet, so pack in some hard-side luggage to help prevent that.

10 TRAVEL ESSENTIALS FOR A FALL TRIP

TRAVEL ORGANIZERS

These new travel organizers are like my holy grail of travel essentials. Not only are they super cute and you can mix and match them, but they keep me uber organized. There are so many different bags and sizes depending on what types of things you pack when you travel. I personally love the Brush Up Bag for all my makeup because it also has a spot to keep my brushes and tools. I then use some of the other cases like the Day Tripper, Getaway Bag, and Globetrotter for my face products and toiletries. The Face Case is where I keep all my jewelry and then the Packing Squad helps me separate and organize my clothing. I find that things pack better when you roll them, so I roll everything and put it into packing cubes.

USE CODE NIKKI20 FOR 20% OFF YOUR PURCHASE AT TRVL DESIGN UNTIL 10/23/20.

ALLERGY MEDICINE (AND TISSUES)

When you are traveling to a different climate in the fall there are bound to be some new allergens. The last thing you want is to have to hunt down your favorite allergy medicine. I suggest having some kind of little first aid kit with you that has your allergy meds and some travel tissues.

EXTRA SOCKS

For some reason I never seem to pack enough socks for a trip. You don't want to have to re-wear a stinky pair after a hike. This is my rule of thumb, pack two pairs for each day of your trip.

LOTION

As the weather gets cooler, our skin gets drier. Make sure you have some moisturizing lotion to replenish your skin as you travel. This is very important for if you go on a plane as well.

TRAVEL CHARGER

You never know when you might wind up somewhere that you can't charge your phone. You definitely don't want to get lost in the middle of nowhere. Make sure you charge your travel charger before you go and keep it with you in your purse.

10 TRAVEL ESSENTIALS FOR A FALL TRIP

Do you have any additional travel essentials for fall trip that need to be added to this list?

FALL FLOWER ARRANGEMENT UNDER $30

One of the things that I love to have in my home during every season is fresh flowers. Theres something about having some fresh flowers that bring a little life and cheer into a room. Sometimes they don't even need to smell like anything, but they add a bit of charm and color to each place you put them. I normally keep fresh flowers in three places, my coffee table, my dining room table, and my kitchen counter. It's great when I can get enough bundles from Trader Joe's and make myself 3 different size arrangements to use in the different areas of my house. Can you believe that my fall flower arrangement is pretty large and still cost me under $30?

FALL FLORAL ARRANGEMENT UNDER $30

TIPS FOR SHOPPING FOR FALL FLORAL ARRANGEMENTS

One of my first tips is knowing where to shop for flowers. I personally love Trader Joe's if I am just shopping to make one decent size arrangement, or some smaller ones. This is because I don't have to purchase in bulk, yet I still get amazing prices. I think the most I paid was for my Hydrangeas which were $5.99 for a bunch of 3. Sometimes, I also shop at a local wholesale florist because they have a HUGE selection of flowers. They also carry inexpensive vases, and it's a great deal when I want to make arrangements for a party, or to have in multiple rooms. Normally though, I end up spending closer to $80 at wholesale because I purchase 3-4 flower types and filler. This allows me to make 2 large arrangements for myself and something to gift to a friend, or my mother-in-law.

When I am picking flowers for an arrangement, I like to pick two different flowers, some greenery, and another type of filler like a berry stem, or smaller woody flower. For my fall floral arrangement I chose white hydrangeas, some orange mums for a fall color, eucalyptus and magnolia leaves for the greenery, and then some coral colored berry stems as another slight pop of color. This fall arrangement turned out beautiful and lasted me about a week and a half. The total cost was also only $21.95 plus tax.

WAYS TO STYLE A SHIFT DRESS FOR FALL

Now that we are in fall (even though it's still hot in FL), I am so excited to break out the layers, hats, and boots! Today, I wanted to style a shift dress for fall from Sail to Sable, and I had to limit myself because I had so many ideas. So, here are 8 ways to style a white shift dress for fall. My biggest tip when shopping, as you can see from these styles, is to invest in classic pieces you can wear season after season. For example, I have chic leather jackets in a few different shades and a range of neutral felt fedora hats. Pick a few neutral shades such as black, nude or brown and get a matching purse and boots, so you can rotate these pieces for a long time. With all of these neutral pieces, it's so easy to mix and match. I highly suggest getting some affordable knit pieces for fall, like these pieces I’m showing here from Forever 21 and H&M. This rhinestone button cardigan had me at "glitter & sparkle", where this chain shoulder bag had me at "hello glam". Since Orlando is usually hot almost year-round, I pretty much live for layers that I can take off as the day gets warmer. I hope this gives you some style inspiration for either the office, or anywhere else.

TRENDING - FALL SWEATER SETS

This is another trend that totally takes me back to the 90's. Who watched Clueless? I loved everything that Cher and Dione wore, and this outfit totally reminds me of a modern version of something pulled from Cher's closet. Sweater sets were trending during spring and it's not going away any time soon. This is no longer granny's cardigan set, we have brought it back and it's chic-er than ever.

FALL SWEATER SETS SHEIN

These matching pieces give you just the right amount of coziness during transitional weather. You can layer it up in the morning when it's feeling a bit brisk, but then take off that cardigan once the sun warms up the day. These sets might be ideal for fall, but they really do work for any season and are a great addition to your wardrobe.

I personally love how there are 3 cute ways to wear your cardigan as well. First you have got the tied crossbody style, which is a bit fashion forward. Then you have the tied around the waist look, which is a bit more casual. Finally just wearing the cardigan, buttoned, or unbuttoned. My cardigan set here is from Shein and only $21!

FALL SWEATER SETS 3 WAYS

Cardigan: Shein | Jeans: H&M | Shoes: Golden Goose (Dupes)

Sunglasses: Dupes | Earrings: Dupes | Necklace: Dupes | Purse: Dupes

FALL SWEATER SETS UNDER $50

What's your favorite fall sweater trend? I would say mine is a tie between cardigans and over-sized turtleneck sweaters.

NSALE WALMART DUPES UNDER $25

Happy Monday y’all! So I have a super exciting blog post for you today! So many people expressed disappointment over the fact that so many Nordstrom Anniversary Sale items sold out before you even had access to buy them. So… I did a little research, and found amazingly similar items at Walmart. The best part is… they’re all WAY more affordable, in fact these NSale Walmart dupes are under $25! And almost all of these items are fully stocked currently.

I didn't purchase these myself, so I can't show you them on, but these are super affordable and Walmart has a great return policy if something doesn't fit just right. I also will say that Walmart has majorly stepped up their game and I have been purchasing quite a few things from them to wear.

MOM AND SON TWINNING SWIMSUITS

Hi friends and happy Twinning Thursday! I'm so so so very excited for today's post! It has been one that even though I don't have a little girl, I really wanted to create some fun mommy and me swim looks. Luckily my son is such a good sport and allowed me to twin with him this summer. It got me thinking that it's only fair that moms with boys get some twinning swimsuits too. Here I came up with 8 coordinating suits for moms and their sons. I even coordinated some sandals, sunglasses, hats, and floats! These suits come in a variety of sizes and there are plenty of color/style options, so let's dive right in. If you are looking for a mommy and me girls post, then you should check this one out at Something Delightful!

Have a great weekend!

FROSÉ LEMONADE POPSICLES + MOCKTAIL VERSION

Sweet, Tart, and Delicious! These turned out wayyyyy better than I thought they would and they were even easier to make than I had imagined. That's a major win-win! Since Rosé is the wine of the summer, I felt it was only fitting to put it into popsicle form. My mother in law had gotten a random assortment of all natural wines and had way too many bottles of Rosé, so this was a wonderful way to make use of them. I added a few different flavors of lemonade and a dash of gin and limoncello depending on the batch. I even created some mocktail ones for the kids. Now I have a freezer full Frosé Lemonade Popsicles and you could too!

These are not only great for summer, but would make the perfect treat for a bridal shower, bachelorette party, or a girls afternoon poolside. Mix them up the day before, freeze, and enjoy.

FROSÉ LEMONADE POPSICLES

SUPPLIES:

  • Rosé of your choice, or Welch's Sparkling Rosé
  • 8″ x 2″ Popsicle Bags (the ones from Amazon come with the funnel!)
  • Simply Lemonade, I used Original, Strawberry, and Watermelon
  • 1 oz bottles Rose Gin, or Pink Limoncello (optional)
  • Measuring bowl and cup

ROSÉ-SICLE DIRECTIONS

COMBINE INGREDIENTS

FROSÉ LEMONADE POPSICLES

Combine the three ingredients in a bowl. I mixed a non-alcoholic batch first for the kids, and then afterwards mixed up the alcoholic batch.

FILL THE BAGS + FREEZE

FROSÉ LEMONADE POPSICLES

Using the funnel that comes with the disposable popsicle bags, fill each one to the fill line about a finger below the seal, close and freeze! Most freezers have wire shelves, so I suggest putting them on a baking rack to freeze evenly.

Frosé Lemonade Popsicles

Sweet and tart wine popsicles for summer.

  • 1 Bottle Rosé (Mocktail version use Welch's Sparkling Rosé)
  • 2 Cups Lemonade
  • 50 ML Gin, or Limoncello
  1. Combine all three ingredients in your bowl. Split the portions in half if you want to use two different juices.

  2. Funnel the mixture into your 12 popsicle bags, lay flat, and freeze at least over night.

FROSÉ LEMONADE POPSICLES

You may not have a large group that you need to make a batch of these for. But, if you are looking for a refreshing way to use up half of the weekend bottle of Rosé, then whip up a batch for you to enjoy as you read a book in the shade of your patio.

NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE 2020

Happy Monday everyone! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is one of my favorite sales a year to shop. I know that a lot of items sell out fast, but that's also because everything is such a great deal. I always tend to stock up on new basics that I need, a pair of new boots, high quality denim, and then add a few new sweaters into rotation. A lot of items I have purchased from previous years are still in great condition and still in style since I purchase simple timeless pieces. I know it can be sad when items sell out before you have access to shop. However, if you keep your eye out there end up being a lot of returns, or Nordstrom may saving items to re-stock. I highly recommend shopping the sale and if you want to sign up for a Nordy card, then DO IT...because then you can have early access to shop. I don't suggest this to purchase a ton of items and go into credit card debt, anyone without the card cannot shop until August 19th and many items will already be gone. If you get the credit card in order to shop, then I still suggest making yourself a budget where you can pay off what you purchase the following month, or two so you pay none, or very little interest. You also will get a $60 Nordstrom note if you sign up before August 18th.

NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE 2020

I was going to drive up to Jacksonville to see my best friend Sasha, and shop the sale in person. However, the store didn't really get much in, so I decided to just shop online. It does mean that I won't get to do any try-ons with new items until they arrive later on, but here are some great pieces from last year that I found again during the sale. Either the exact pieces are available AGAIN, or there is something SUPER similar available. I wanted to share 6 fall outfits you can easily re-create and show you how easy it can be to shop your own wardrobe with the right basics. I'm hoping some of these pieces will last me 3 years in a row.

SUMMER SHAVING ROUTINE

I normally put a lot of thought and research into the products I use on my body. When it comes to my beauty and skincare routine, I won’t use just anything. I also feel that y'all know that about me and maybe are even on the page about that. I really like to test out all the products I put on my face/skin and have tested out so many concealers, moisturizers, and self tanners under the sun. However, when it came to shaving my legs...I literally would grab any 5 blade that's on sale. I switched to waxing for a while, but the time it would take to go to an appointment, plus the expense, I needed to find a better option. So I took a minute and thought about it. If not all body wash is created equally, then I would think it would apply to razors as well right? It may seem a little odd to dedicate an entire blog post to my shaving routine, but just take a minute to listen and learn.

SUMMER SHAVING ROUTINE

There are 4 main reasons I love the Flamingo Razor:

1. PRICE POINT

All of the individual Flamingo products are under $12. The kits with multiple products vary, but are all under $30.

2. RANGE OF PRODUCTS

From razors, to wax products, to shaving gel, there are so many options in the same brand line.

3. COLOR OPTIONS

There are quite a few color options for your Flamingo razor. I actually own both the pink and the coral.

4. OPTION TO SHOP IN STORE AND ONLINE

This razor is not like Billie where you can sign up for a subscription service, but it's almost exactly the same price for the razor and cartridges. I prefer this razor over Billie though, because I can also purchase it in store when I need to. Flamingo does not offer samples, or trials, but if you’re not satisfied with your purchase for any reason in the first 30 days, we’ll provide you with a full refund.

SUMMER SHAVING ROUTINE

Here are some of my tips for preventing razor bumps, how to get a smoother shave, storing your razor, and how often to change your blades.

  1. To prevent razor bumps, I suggest not shaving daily. I shave my underarms almost every day, but not my bikini and legs. I shave those every 2 days.
  2. Shaving with the gel helps to get a smoother shave and to keep your blades from getting dull. Always lotion your body after shaving. This hydrates your skin, so you don't get ashy, prevents itching, and keeps you feeling smooth.
  3. It’s best to store your razor upright, preferably in a dry place (hard to do in the bathroom, we know!). Our shower hooks, which are included in our Shave Set, can help. Make sure you clean your razor well with hot water after shaving to get our any hair and build up. Dry it and keep it in a drawer, or on the shower hook where it will avoid getting sprayed with water.
  4. If you shave everything daily, then change blades weekly. If you follow my shaving routine change blades every two weeks. Flamingo suggests changing your blade every 6-8 shaves.

SUMMER SHAVING ROUTINE

So let me know are you a waxer, or a shaver? Because with Flamingo you can actually do both, and stay on a budget!

GRILLED ARTICHOKES HILLSTONE STYLE

This is probably my favorite dish to eat out. Whenever I go to a place and they have artichoke on the menu, I always ask for one. You have no idea the disappointment I feel when it says that they are seasonal, I ask if they have it, and they say not right now!! Ugh, I am then constantly craving one afterwards and complaining about it LOL. However, if you have this recipe in your archive, you won't need to worry about whether you can get an artichoke at the next restaurant you visit. In fact, why even spend the money eating out, when you can bring the fancy shmancy dinner to your home. These grilled artichokes Hillstone style, will be sure to please your taste buds.

GRILLED ARTICHOKES

This is a great recipe to make when you are going to grill a few other things as well. We made a whole Mediterranean style meal with lemon potatoes that we put on the grill, and some other grilled vegetables. However, if you are going for a full Hillstone style meal, then I suggest to grill some steak with your artichokes. Be aware that these grilled artichokes are a two step process, you need to steam them first, and then you grill them to finish them off. So, while your artichokes are steaming you can prep the rest of your meal.

GRILLED ARTICHOKES

GRILLED ARTICHOKES WITH AIOLI

Crispy artichokes with a lemon garlic aioli.

  • 2 Large Artichokes
  • 1 Lemon (cut into wedges)
  • Olive Oil
  • 5 Tsp Minced Garlic
  • 4 Tsp Oregano (fresh, or dried)
  • 1/4 Cup Mayo
  1. Cut about 1" off the top of your artichoke, and cut the sharp tips off all the artichoke leaves with scissors. Have lemon wedges handy so that you can rub lemon all over the edges and cut parts of the artichoke, which helps to prevent browning.

  2. Cut the artichokes in half. Use a metal spoon to scoop out the fuzzy chokes and the small inner artichoke leaves. Rub lemon juice all over the inside and exposed cut areas of the artichokes.

  3. In a pot with a steamer; add 1" of water. Put it on high heat until the water begins to boil, and and then turn down to a medium heat.

  4. Place the artichokes cut side down, cover, and steam for 20-25 minutes. You will know they are done when you can pierce the heart easily with a knife because it's tender.

  5. While the artichokes are steaming; you can make your aioli. Combine the mayo, 1/2 of the lemon juiced, salt, and 1 tsp minced garlic til blended. Refrigerate.

  6. Prepare the grill with a high heat, aprox 400 degrees.

  7. Rub olive oil all over the artichoke halves. Then take your minced garlic and rub 1 tsp into the cut side of each artichoke. Top with fresh, or dried oregano, and kosher salt.

  8. Grill the artichokes on each side for 5 minutes and try to grill them on an angle, so that you get nice grill marks. Enjoy with the aioli!

FROZEN BANANA DAIQUIRI

This is the creamiest banana daiquiri you have ever tasted! It's delicious, sweet, and you can't even taste the rum. In fact, it's slightly like a banana milkshake, but doesn't taste too heavy where you can only drink half of it. My father in law (Cliff) is diabetic, but has a slight banana daiquiri obsession. Due to this, I wanted to create one with less alcohol, and more natural ingredients. This is the frozen banana daiquiri I came up with, and since it's Cliff approved, I KNOW you will love it too!

FROZEN BANANA DAIQUIRI

This is a great way to use up some of your bananas that are about to go bad, since those bananas are the sweetest as well. Peel them, wrap them in tin foil, and freeze them until you are ready to make a banana daiquiri. I also decided to mix it up and not use regular brown, or clear rum. I am using a new banana cream rum by Blue Chair Bay, that I saw a friend of mine (Jessica - Frapps & Frills) try recently. They have quite a few flavors and I'm planning on using the pineapple cream one in a Pina-colada. To keep it creamy, I added some almond milk, which also has less sugar. If you want to make this drink a virgin one, then sub out the alcohol for more milk of your choice.

Dress: Shop Belle Isabella | Similar Cups: West Elm | Stirrer Sticks: Acrylic Sticks

FROZEN BANANA DAIQUIRI

See the recipe below with all the ingredients and instructions. It's super easy to make, and you can cut the recipe in half if you just want to make one for yourself. I will say you at least need a good blender though to get the ice crushed up well and blended.

FROZEN BANANA DAIQUIRI

A creamy and fresh tasty banana daiquiri made with a cream rum and real banana.

  • 2 Frozen Bananas
  • 1/2 Cup Blue Chair Bay Banana Rum Cream
  • 1 Tbsp Lime Juice
  • 2 Cups Ice
  • 1 Cup Almond Milk (Add more as needed to blend)
  • Maraschino Cherries for Garnish
  1. Freeze your bananas ahead. This is a great way to use up old bananas that you think you are going to throw away. Simply peel them, and freeze them in tin foil.

  2. In a blender add your frozen banana, rum cream, lime juice, half of the ice and half of the milk. Start blending it.

  3. Add more liquid as needed to blend and add the rest of the ice. Keep blending until smooth.

  4. Pour into your glasses, garnish with cherries and enjoy!

So what do you think? Would you use your old bananas to make yourself a frozen banana daiquiri?

PROSECCO POPSICLE COCKTAIL

Fruit popsicles with Prosecco are the most refreshing way to enjoy a poolside dessert, or cocktail! Try this delicious and easy to make Prosecco popsicle drink this weekend for a fun adult treat! (mocktail option included) I'm also linking a few really fun popsicle recipes if you want to go all out and make your own.

PROSECCO POPSICLE COCKTAIL

I’m a huge fan of mimosas, so when it comes to combining Prosecco with something, I'm all in. I love popsicles and I love sparkling wine, so I knew this combo would be great together right?! Here are my favorite under $15 Proseccos that can be used for this recipe. If you are looking for how to make this a mocktail, sub out the Prosecco for some non-alcoholic sparkling grape juice, or cider.

Have your booze and eat it, too. It’s so hot here in Florida; if we weren't social distancing and could have a party, these would be on the menu for sure. I would call them tipsy popsicles since it's tipped right into your glass of Prosecco!

PROSECCO POPSICLE COCKTAIL

How fun and colorful do the Prosecco popsicle cocktails look all lined up on a tray? As the popsicles begin to melt, it might get a tad messy. The wonderful thing is, if you buy fancy fruit pops, (or make your own) these drinks almost become like bellinis as they sit. See below for a list of popsicle recipes.

TWO WAYS TO STYLE A SHIRTDRESS

A shirtdress is such an easy way to get that effortlessly chic look. Button it up…and be ready in seconds. Or, doll it up to elevate your style game. I'm sharing two of my favorite ways to style a shirtdress below.

TWO WAYS TO STYLE A SHIRTDRESS

1. SHIRT DRESS - DRESSED UP

I recently got this $45 shirtdress from Target as part of the new designer collaboration. This one was from the Lisa Marie Fernandez collection and also comes in a long version and in yellow. It's such a classic summer dress and makes me feel like I'm back in the 50's. I dolled it up with my staple Target heels, a straw bag, and some round sunglasses. This is a fun housewives meets barbie doll look.

TWO WAYS TO STYLE A SHIRTDRESS

2. SHIRT DRESS - WITH SNEAKERS

I decided to loose the belt that came with the dress and pair my Gucci belt with it instead for this look. Since I was dressing it down and going a bit edgy, I added in my Golden Goose sneakers and some fun heart sunglasses. I feel like it's definitely a trend to pair your fave sneakers with a cute dress.

TWO WAYS TO STYLE A SHIRTDRESS

So which is your favorite look? Would you style a shirtdress in a dressy fashion, or would you normally dress yours down?

4 WAYS TO STYLE A SILK SCARF

The look of the summer: a classic silk scarf. However, "classic" doesn't always mean dull. The amazing thing about a silk scarf is its endless versatility. Whatever your mood, it can be a hair statement for that bad hair day, or a retro take on the Audrey Hepburn look, and even a great way to lift your basic t-shirt. I've got the top four ways covered on how to style a silk scarf. My scarf was gifted to me by a female owned company called Up and Away by Me.

PONYTAIL 4 WAYS TO STYLE A SILK SCARF

THE PONYTAIL

The ponytail style is a simple, but pretty way, to transform your everyday hair look. I suggest using a square, or rectangular scarf for this look (mine is the Plumeria Heaven scarf). Once you have your hair up in a ponytail, fold your scarf in half to make a triangle, and then fold it over and over until you have a thin line. Gather the scarf in the middle and knot around your ponytail.

HEADBAND 4 WAYS TO STYLE A SILK SCARF

THE HEADBAND

A feminine and fun twist on a traditional headband, this reminds me of Audrey Hepburn (who is my favorite). Fold your scarf long-ways, and then fold again, until it becomes a long band. Take the length of the scarf and center it over your head so that both sides are equal. Pass it over the top of your head and tie both ends in a bow. You can either keep a bow on top, or tuck the ends under so it looks like a twist on the top. You could also take the length and pass it over your head, so that the ends are under your neck, tie it in a knot, and let the ends dangle, very 60's style.

NECK-TIE 4 WAYS TO STYLE A SILK SCARF

THE NECK-TIE

Take a square silk scarf, and fold it in half to create a triangle. Continue to fold your scarf until it is in a long thin line. Next, wrap the scarf around your neck and tie the ends together in a bow or knot under your chin. This look is perfect for the office, or to spruce up a plain crew neck top, or sweater!

ON THE HANDBAG

Tying a scarf either in a bow, or a simple knot around your handbag strap is an easy way to add a splash of color.

I hope you love these simple ways to style a silk scarf. I would love to hear of any more suggestions on more summer styles.

RED, WHITE, AND BLUE WINE SPRITZER

Normally when I hear someone say “we’re having wine spritzers” the wine snob in me turns up my nose.  It always felt like a good way to ruin a bottle of wine.  But then I thought about all the times I have enjoyed sangria, mimosas or bellinis – all wine that is made more fun by adding some juice, or fruit.  Also, what if you only have one bottle of wine (I used Luna Nuda Pinot Grigio) and need to make it go further?  Makes sense to mix it into a refreshing bubbly drink.  I am here to tell you that I was originally wrong about the spritzer.  Next time I will happily cheers a spritzer with you as opposed to crinkling my nose.

RED, WHITE, AND BLUE WINE SPRITZERRED, WHITE, AND BLUE WINE SPRITZERRED, WHITE, AND BLUE WINE SPRITZER

RED, WHITE, AND BLUE WINE SPRITZER

A refreshing white wine spritzer perfect for a patriotic holiday.

  • 1 Bottle Luna Nuda Pinot Grigio
  • 1/2 Cup Simple Syrup
  • 1 Can Watermelon Sparkling Water
  • Blueberries
  • Frozen Watermelon Stars
  1. Use a small star cookie cutter and make stars out of your watermelon. Then freeze them for 2 hours, or overnight.

  2. Fill a pitcher with ice and top with berries and frozen watermelon (save some to place in glasses).

  3. Pour in simple syrup and then wine until pitcher is ¾ full.

  4. Top off the mixture with a can of the watermelon sparkling water.

  5. Serve in glasses with some berries and watermelon. Enjoy!

This is a light and refreshing “be careful it goes down quickly” concoction.  This is also a really simple cocktail, which the hostess in me really appreciates.  Of course you can enjoy this anytime of the year but this weekend in particular is when it's ideal for the occasion.  Cheers to fireworks, 4th of July, and this delicious wine spritzer.

MORNING AND EVENING SKINCARE ROUTINE

Taking care of my skin has always been a top priority. Growing up I rarely wore makeup and even now, during the week, I focus more on keeping my skin clean vs. putting makeup to cover blemishes. My mother has more recently been stressing about the importance of skincare since she works for a plastic surgeon and you only have one chance to keep your skin healthy. So, when I fell in love with Tula products; I knew it was a great opportunity to update my skincare routine.

Tula is not some trendy product, but a clean and effective company bringing you products that benefit you from the inside out. 100% of their products are made with good-for-you probiotics. They believe that the ingredients good for your body, are also good for your skin. Tula is a woman run company, started by a doctor who researched probiotics for over 15 years. She had a lightbulb moment after seeing how probiotics were changing lives and started Tula, a USA based company.

Three of my favorite products that have been a game changer in my skincare routine, are the 24-7 Moisture Hydrating Day & Night Cream, Rose Glow Eye Balm, and the Face Filter Blurring & Moisturizing Primer.

MORNING AND EVENING SKINCARE ROUTINE

MORNING SKINCARE ROUTINE

Your skin needs different things in the morning and the evening. This is why I wanted to share what I use at each time of day and why. My skin personally is dry, though I always thought I had combination skin. If you get a facial, the esthetician can help tell you what kind of skin you have. This will be very helpful in choosing your products.

CULT CLASSIC PURIFYING FACE CLEANSER - I start with this probiotic gel cleanser that cleanses and nourishes skin without stripping, or over-drying.

GET TONED PRO-GLYCOLIC 10% RESURFACING TONER - Next, I tone my face with the pro-glycolic toner to gently exfoliate and smooth my skin.

HYALURONIC ACID - To help my skin with its dryness, I have been using Hyaluronic Acid to help retain it's moisture. This also helps with plumping your skin and getting rid of fine lines.

VITAMIN C SERUM - This is a lightweight Vitamin C and AHA serum concentrated with smoothing pineapple juice and hyaluronic acid to brighten and even tone.

ROSE QUARTZ FACIAL ROLLER - I keep my facial roller in my beauty fridge over night, that way it will be nice and cold to help de-puff in the morning. I use the roller all over my face to massage my serums into my skin.

PROTECT + GLOW DAILY SUNSCREEN GEL - Not only does this give you protection from UV rays, but from blue light as well. This is something to wear every day, gives a subtle glow, non-greasy, and is reef safe!

24 - 7 MOISTURE HYDRATING DAY & NIGHT CREAM - Finally, the perfect day and night cream that does it all. Packed with probiotics and superfoods, it delivers deep hydration, firms skin & improves look of fine lines & wrinkles. Skin is left looking more even & glowing.

ROSE GLOW EYE BALM - With caffeine and hydrating rose water, this will have you feeling awake and energized. It can also be used as a nice natural highlight when you are going makeup free.

FACE FILTER BLURRING & MOISTURIZING PRIMER - This blurring & moisturizing primer instantly smooths to create an even “filter” like finish. As you blend this buildable formula, it releases its special skin-blurring properties or "glow particles" that create the look of a sun-kissed, radiant skin tone. The non-comedogenic formula won’t clog pores.

MORNING AND EVENING SKINCARE ROUTINE

EVENING SKINCARE ROUTINE

Sometimes I change out a few of my serums in the morning, or evening. However, for the most part it stays the same. I use the majority of my moisturizing skincare items in the evening, so that they can really soak into my skin.

#NOMAKEUP REPLENISHING CLEANSING OIL - I start my evening routine with this makeup remover and cleanser in one. An oil cleanser is great for people with dry skin. It replenishes moisture while removing stubborn debris and not clogging your pores.

I use this in the evenings to help my skin also soak in my retinol more.

RETINOL - This contains 0.5% pure retinol, an ingredient that can reduce the appearance of fine lines, photo damage, and general signs of the aging of skin. I personally think anyone 30 and over should use retinol every night to help reduce and prevent wrinkles.

ROSE QUARTZ FACIAL ROLLER - In the evening I like to use my facial roller to massage in my Hyaluronic Acid and Retinol. This gets them deep into my skin to soak in overnight.

24 - 7 MOISTURE HYDRATING DAY & NIGHT CREAM - Creamy and soothing, this gives you the full overnight moisture your skin needs.

OPTIONAL ADDITIONAL PRODUCTS

GO AWAY ACNE SPOT TREATMENT - With a clear formula, you can use this acne spot treatment at any time of day. 73% of people saw pimples disappear after 24 hours.

SELF-CARE SUNDAY NOURISHING FACE MASK - This is a great mask for hydrating your skin on a weekly basis. You can use it one of three ways, a small amount as a moisturizing serum, leave on for 10 minutes as a mask, or keep on overnight as a treatment.

NOURISHING & BRIGHTENING HYDROGEL MASK - These superfood masks are a gel moisturizing mask. They come in two pieces, which make it easy to fit them nicely to your face. Purchase a pack of TULA Star Bright Hydrogel Masks (at 50% off) & 100% of proceeds go directly to getting more medical masks to NYC’s COVID-19 frontline healthcare workers.

AFFORDABLE PALM BEACH STYLED PATIO

There are several beautiful coastal beach towns here in Florida. However, nothing says seaside-chic like Palm Beach. The small town is known for their impressive real estate, preppy southern style, and their bright and sunny color palette. I wanted to provide a step-by-step guide on how to achieve this distinctly Floridian aesthetic and bring home some sunshine no matter where you may be. Also, just because Palm Beach is an expensive place, doesn't mean that you have to spend a ton of money to achieve that look. Even when shopping from stores like Pottery Barn Orlando you can stay on a budget. My Palm Beach styled patio is completely affordable and features pieces from both high and budget end stores.

AFFORDABLE PALM BEACH STYLED PATIO

When it comes to a Palm Beach styled patio, you want to start with a blank canvas. Even though it's a town known for a wide ray of colors, all of the color pops from the blank white canvas base. My husband wouldn't allow me to have as much white furniture as I would like, but I did get some white resin wicker pieces and I painted the patio floor as close to as off-white as he would allow.

AFFORDABLE PALM BEACH STYLED PATIO

Next I added in some fun bright colors. I didn't want to go too bright, since I'm a pastel kind of girl and I also love the bold and pastel vibe at The Colony in Palm Beach. The colors I picked were white, aqua blue, greens, and coral pink. Then I chose some tropical accents by adding in the banana leaf print.

AFFORDABLE PALM BEACH STYLED PATIO

Texture is such a fun way to spice up patio decor. Palm Beach patio style draws from natural outdoor materials like rattan, bamboo, and wicker. I drew those into my own patio decor from large furniture down to my simple bamboo reusable straws.

AFFORDABLE PALM BEACH STYLED PATIO

Prints and more prints! Palm Beach is full of mixing prints from the original banana leaf print, to cabana stripes. I pulled these both in through my rugs, chaise lounge cushions, and umbrella. Palm Beach also carries the allure of glitz and glam compared to other preppy beach towns. Adding in some glass and metallic gold pieces help add that ritzy Hollywood vibe.

AFFORDABLE PALM BEACH STYLED PATIO

Currently Pottery Barn is offering in-store shopping by appointment only. It's touch-less shopping to keep everyone feeling safe. They are also doing Virtual Design appointments where you bring photos and your color palette for them to help you shop and design your space, since they cannot come to your home at this time. Call Pottery Barn Orlando for an appointment (407) 355-3552.

Speaking of patio style...what's yours, and where did you shop for your pieces?

SUMMER OUTFITS UNDER $15

One of my favorite affordable brands, that I have been shopping from for years, is SheIn. It's funny how people call it different things. My cousin calls it Sheen, and I call it She In. It seems like I always gravitate to pieces that shock me with their price tags. All of these summer outfits are under $15. I found some great light weight dresses and rompers that will be perfect for a beach vacay, or a girls brunch. They are styled from dressy to casual, so there's something for every occasion.

LEMON ROMPER

LEMON ROMPER UNDER $15

Made from a fabric that steams really easily and doesn't wrinkle much, this is perfect for travel. I personally love this with a belt around the waist. Mixing highs and lows like the $15 romper with my expensive Gucci belt, is a great way to keep a revolving wardrobe and only splurge on the staples.

Romper: Shein | Heels: Steve Madden | Belt: Gucci | Purse: Gucci

WATERCOLOR MIDI DRESS

Made from the same type of fabric as the romper above, this is a great dress to pack for the beach. I love the pastel colors and even though it's a light material, it's not sheer.

GEOMETRIC WRAP DRESS

AZTEC WRAP DRESS UNDER $15

This is a fully lined cotton wrap dress. I love how soft it is and how it has adjustable straps. The wrap part is adjustable as well, so you can make it fit nicely to your waist.

DITSY BABYDOLL DRESS

FLORAL DITSY PRINT DRESS UNDER $15

This dress comes in 4 different colors. It also had adjustable straps, but the cut is not one you can wear a strapless bra with. I suggest using sticky boobs when wearing this one. I love the ditsy print and how it's girly enough to dress up, or down.

FLORAL BUTTON DOWN MAXI DRESS

FLORAL BUTTON DOWN MAXI UNDER $15

I love button up dresses because I feel like you can wear them so many ways. You can tie up the bottom of the dress, wear it belted, or unbelted, wear it as a duster, or unbutton some of the bottom to have a bit of a leg slit. This one I plan on wearing for the 4th of July.

6 LIFE LESSONS YOU LEARN BECOMING A DOG MOM

The multiple times that I brought up getting a dog, my husband completely shot me down. To be honest if he had his way, we would not have gotten Coco. Even though he has come around and loves her too. When my mom got me my puppy for Christmas, I was completely overjoyed. Really, I had no clue what it would take to be a dog parent. I did know that after having two kids, I knew how to take care of someone else, so it couldn't be that hard. There are so many things to learn when it comes to a puppy, but some of the best things are the life lessons you learn becoming a dog mom.

1.  UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

As a parent, you teach your kids unconditional love. Yes, they will give it back. However, with kids you will experience their ups and downs, and their anger, when you don't do exactly what they want. With a dog you always get complete unconditional love. This will help teach you to give that back to others.

2. TIME MANAGEMENT

No more days of sleeping in! When you get a dog, especially a small dog like mine, it's like getting a baby. In the beginning, I had to get up in the middle of the night to take her out. Now she sleeps through the night, but I don't need to set an alarm clock anymore. Coco gets me up on the dot at 6:30 am and off we go for her routine of pee, then eat, then a walk to poop. She also completely knows her schedule on when she should be fed three times a day. I know I have to manage my time through the day to stick to her schedule and that way if I have to leave the house, I'm back by the time she needs me.

3. COMMUNICATION

They always say that communication is key in any relationship. Well when you can communicate with someone who doesn't even speak your language, then that's some great communication. Dogs teach you the patience to learn to communicate with others. I have trained her to tell me when she needs certain things, and I have learned over time her queues for when she wants to eat, go outside, or play.

Coco's Dry Food | Coco's Wet Food

4. PUTTING OTHERS FIRST

You learn putting others first not only by having children, but dogs are people's furry children. You learn becoming a dog mom that you can't be selfish. If you are too selfish then your dog won't eat, won't get potty trained, and won't be a happy animal. I put my puppy first by not going out if I know I will be gone for too long, or I have to find a way to take her with me. I spend less money on myself and more on her, so that I can buy her extra toys, and fit in the extra monthly expenses like her food, her vet plan, and any medications. If you want to practice on those parenting skills, then definitely get a dog before you decide to have kids.

5. ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS

I have to be so organized after getting Coco. I was pretty good with my organizational skills already, but becoming a dog mom has made me even more so. If I take her somewhere, it's like I have to have a whole diaper bag together. I also have to make sure I am keeping the house organized. Dogs tend to get into everything, so I have learned what I need to keep put away, doors that have to stay closed, and how to keep her area organized with toys and everything she needs.

6. FLEXIBILITY

I am totally type A; I like to have a plan and stick to it. Having a puppy really teaches you to be more flexible. Sometimes I have to drop what I'm doing because she's barking at me to go outside. If I plan on traveling, I have to be flexible enough on the trip to bring her with me, or I have to make sure to hire someone to watch her and if need be come home earlier than planned. Having another person who depends on you, means that they need to come first even if it mixes up your plans a bit.

LESSONS YOU LEARN BECOMING A DOG MOM

Are you a pet parent, and do you feel like your pet has changed your life forever? I am so grateful to have my pup that gives me so much love. Is there anything additional that you feel you have learned becoming a dog mom?

DRIVE IN MOVIE NIGHT AT HOME

Are you looking for some fun family ideas since we are staying at home now a days? Well I have a great one for you! Ford challenged us to create our own drive in movie night at the house last weekend, and it was so much fun. It's actually not expensive to get a projector and screen off Amazon. Once you have those two supplies; you are set up for a summer of family fun.

DRIVE IN MOVIE NIGHT AT HOME

I couldn't exactly drive the cars around to the back of the house to have an actual drive in movie. However, I made the cutest cardboard box cars for the kids to sit in. (You can find the full tutorial HERE.) We even watched the movie Grease, which not only had a lot of cool vintage cars in it, but also has its own drive in movie theater.

DIY CARDBOARD BOX CARS (WITH FREE PRINTABLE)

I set up the bar cart for us adults with a pitcher of Titos Mojitos. If you want the recipe for a Pineapple Coconut MoTito, then leave me a comment below! For the kids (and adults), I set up a confessions stand with candy, popcorn, and soda. To make it easy for the kids to gather up their treats, I used organizer trays and mini popcorn buckets.

WHITE BAR CART PINEAPPLE MOJITODRIVE IN MOVIE NIGHT AT HOME CONCESSIONS

We had to wait until it got dark to start the movie, but the kids had fun picking out all their snacks. Then they got cozy in their cars that had a cushion inside and a spot to put their movie tray. The cars held up really well too and my nieces took them home to use in their playroom for movie nights at home.

DRIVE IN MOVIE NIGHT AT HOME

Now I'm challenging you to create your own #FordMovieNight at home! Let me know if you try it, or have already created your own outdoor movie night at home!

DIY CARDBOARD BOX CARS (WITH FREE PRINTABLE)

Good Morning Friends! I wanted to share a full tutorial on how I made the DIY cardboard box cars for our drive in movie night. Below are all of the step-by-step instructions on how to assemble your own cardboard car.

CARDBOARD BOX CAR

Step 1: To assemble the DIY cardboard box cars you will need cardboard boxes; I used these 18 x 24 ones from Lowes that I already had sitting in the garage. You will also need packing tape, hot glue, a box cutter, scissors, and a ruler.

CARDBOARD BOX CAR

Step 2: Fold and tape the box into the standard box shape, leaving it open at the top.

Step 3: Measure 12 inches up from the bottom of the box all the way around. Then at each of the four open corners of the box, cut between the flaps down to that 12 inch mark to lengthen your box flaps.

CARDBOARD BOX CAR

Step 4: Using a round object of your choice (I used a coaster, included in the printable), draw two semi-circles on the front of the box (on the new fold line, where the flaps will fold down).

Step 5: With a box cutter, carefully cut along the semi-circle line that you just drew.

Step 6: When you fold the flap downward. The two semi-circles of the headlights should remain standing up. These are your headlights.

Step 7: Measure 6 inches down from the top of all 4 box flaps and trim off that 6 inches, so that your box flaps are now all 8.5 inches.

CARDBOARD BOX CAR

Step 8: Measure 8.5 inches in horizontally in from the front on the side flaps of the box fold (on the left and right of the headlights). Next, with the box cutter, cut vertically from the top of the flap down to the 8.5 inch mark on the flap fold. Repeat for both left and right sides.

Step 9: Fold both the left and right 8.5 inch panels down and tape together with packing tape. Then fold the front flap down onto it and glue. This creates the dashboard.

CARDBOARD BOX CAR

Step 10: Place hot glue on the inside back flap of your car and then fold over to attach to the inside back of box. This will act as reinforcement as well as create a more sturdy back of your car.

CARDBOARD BOX CAR

Step 11: Now it’s time for windows! Draw a curved window shape with pencil on the remaining left or right side panel. Then use that cut out as your stencil to cut out the same piece on the opposite side.

CARDBOARD BOX CAR

Step 12: For the Bumpers I took foam pool noodles from dollar tree and cut them into 18 inch lengths. Then I cut them length wise to create the front and back bumper with flat sides to be able to glue onto the car. I covered the bumpers in the silver foil card stock with my hot glue gun. Now you can get to painting and decorating.

CARDBOARD BOX CAR

I used Krylon spray paints from Lowes that were less than $5 each. It took me less than 2 cans to the coral and mint green car. The aqua blue was a bit more tricky. I really don't suggest that color since it took me 3 cans and it still didn't fully cover.

Krylon Seaside Green | Krylon Sunrise | Krylon Aqua

The printable attached for you to download has everything you need in order to cut out the pieces to decorate the car, including the Ford license plate. We used foil card stock in red, gold, and silver to make everything on the car.

CARDBOARD BOX CAR

This was one of the most fun projects I have done in a long time. I will say that this is a weekend project that took two people, a lot of spray paint, and a whole lot of patience. If your kids are under 52" tall, then these cardboard box cars will be perfect for them. You could use these for a drive in movie night at home, or just for your kids to play make believe.

3 INGREDIENT GREEN SMOOTHIE

I hope you have been having a productive week. I'm super happy that it's almost the weekend. Since, I have been home so much, I have been trying to come up with some filling and healthy snacks. I randomly found some bags of frozen pineapple hidden in my freezer, which prompted the creation of this recipe. I even added in two of my daily supplements, which makes it easier for me to get my daily intake of everything I need. It's a 3 ingredient green smoothie, but I used 2 extra optional items in mine.

3 INGREDIENT GREEN SMOOTHIE

So, originally I made this smoothie with frozen pineapple. However, Publix was completely out when I went to the grocery store last. So, I ended up making this version with mango and it tasted just as delicious. I used frozen mango, fresh kale, oat milk, my Hum Nutrition Daily Cleanse, and a scoop of my Vital Proteins Collagen.

Just take all your ingredients and add them into your blender. I do suggest with kale that you make sure you don't have any stems. I feel like kale is hard to blend perfectly smooth, so I use only the leafy part. You could also sub for spinach if you aren't a kale fan.

3 INGREDIENT GREEN SMOOTHIE

Blend it all together, pour into a glass, and enjoy! It's pretty simple. I would love to hear what you think of the smoothie and whether you subbed anything, or added any of your own supplements.

3 Ingredient Green Smoothie

Vegan green smoothie with some kale.

  • 1/2 Cup Kale
  • 3/4 Cup Frozen Mango, or Pineapple
  • 1/3 Cup Oat Milk (substitute with a milk of your choice)
  • 2 Capsules Hum Daily Cleanse (optional)
  • 1 Scoop Collagen (optional)
  1. Add all your ingredients into your blender and blend until smooth.

  2. I like to open up my daily cleanse capsules and pour them into the blender along with a scoop of my collagen. This gives some added vitamins and a great way to take your daily collagen.

  3. Pour into a glass and enjoy!

Have a healthy and productive day!

MANIC MONDAY | NO. 5

Happy Monday Babes! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I'm definitely curious what everyone is doing at home. We need some more ideas for at home things to do. Currently, I have been doing a lot of binge watching, house projects, and cooking. My husband, and I are currently getting the patio all cleaned up and prepping for an outdoor movie night this weekend. Last week I was so busy with work and feeling a bit unmotivated. I realized I needed to get back on track this week, so I'm sharing with you 5 ways I help myself get and stay motivated.

MORNING FACIAL

The first thing I do when I get up in the morning is wash my face and brush my teeth. I love the fresh feeling of being clean, and the water helps wake me up. I like to use my cold facial roller with my serums and lotion, because it helps de-puff my face. This helps me get moving in the morning.

HAVE A CUP OF COFFEE

Sometimes I don't even finish a full cup of coffee, but mentally I need it. This past week I picked up some coconut sugar, oat milk, and coconut Reddi-whip, so I have been making my coffee with that. I think the bit of caffeine gets my brain kick-started and I'm more productive.

VITAMINS

I have some vitamins that I take in the morning, and some I like to take at night before bed. I realized that if I take too many in the morning it gives me an upset stomach. I feel much healthier though when I am taking at least my multi-vitamin and my probiotic.

DRESS FOR SUCCESS

I could easily sit around in my pajamas all day. However, I feel much more motivated when I get dressed. Sometimes that means putting on a dress and heels, and sometimes it's just a tee and joggers. Either way, I think getting out of your bed clothes and into something else is very helpful for getting your day going.

BLUE AND CORAL FLORAL DRESS

Dress: Red Dress | Shoes: Amazon Similar | Earrings: Kendra Scott | Necklace: Kendra Scott | Headband: Asos

EXERCISE

When you get your body moving in the morning, it gets your blood flowing and wakes you up. Sometimes I just do a neighborhood lap with the dog while I drink my coffee. And then other days I make the time for a 15 minute cardio workout. Make sure you move your body for a minimum of 30 minutes a day and it will help you stay motivated.

Tell me one thing that you do to stay motivated.

STRAWBERRY ANGEL FOOD CUPCAKES

I'm not really a big dessert person, but who doesn't like something light and refreshing in time for summer. I wanted to come up with a small personalized dessert that would be perfect to serve at a backyard BBQ, or even for a ladies brunch. This strawberry angel food cupcake is the perfect mix of light and fruity. The frosting is actually made with cool whip, so it's very light and refreshing. This recipe only takes a few ingredients and will take you less than an hour to make everything including cooling time for your cupcakes.

STRAWBERRY ANGEL FOOD CUPCAKES

First I set my oven to 375 degrees, and while it was heating up I made the angel food batter. This was very simple and all you need is a box of Betty Crocker mix and 1 1/4 cups of water.

STRAWBERRY ANGEL FOOD CUPCAKES

I baked the cupcakes inside of baking liners. This was great because I didn't have to clean any pans. The cupcakes only took 10 minutes to bake in the oven. You can tell when they are done because they are a light golden color and are cracked on the top. Fill the liners 2/3 of the way full for a perfect size cupcake.

STRAWBERRY ANGEL FOOD CUPCAKES

While the cupcakes were cooling, I made the whipped topping. I combined 3/4 cup of milk and a box of Jello cheesecake instant pudding mix and blended with my electric mixer for 30 seconds. Then I stirred in 1/4 cup of strawberry puree. This can be made from fresh strawberries, or thawed and drained. Finally mix in the tub of cool whip and refrigerate until you are ready to frost.

STRAWBERRY ANGEL FOOD CUPCAKES

I have cake piping tools, so I used those to pipe the frosting onto the cupcakes. An easy way to do it without that though is to put your frosting into a ziploc bag. Then, snip off one of the corners and use that to pipe the frosting onto your cupcakes. I topped the cupcakes with a slice of strawberry and then gave each of my kids a strawberry angel food cupcake to enjoy! They sure were scrumptious.

Angel Food Cupcakes

A bite size version of your favorite Angel Food.

  • 1 Box Betty Crocker Angel Food Mix
  • 1 1/4 Cups Water
  • 1/2 Cup Sliced Strawberries
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

  2. Combine in a mixing bowl the angel food mix and water.

  3. Mix on medium speed for 1 minute until smooth and foamy.

  4. Fill the cupcake liners 2/3 of the way full with the batter.

  5. Bake for 10 minutes and remove from the tray to cool.

  6. Frost with the cool whip frosting and top with a strawberry slice.

Strawberry Cheesecake Cool Whip Frosting

A light and airy frosting made with cool whip.

  • 1 8 oz Tub Cool Whip
  • 1 Package Jello Cheesecake Instant Pudding Mix
  • 3/4 Cup Milk
  • 1/4 Cup Strawberry Puree (fresh, or frozed thawed strawberries can be used)
  1. In a mixing bowl combine the milk and pudding mix. Mix with an electric mixer on low for 30 seconds.

  2. Stir in the strawberry puree until smooth.

  3. With a spatula fold in the tub of cool whip and mix until smooth.

  4. Refrigerate until ready to use.

I hope you love this recipe as much as we did! My husband doesn't like too much frosting, and this one is light enough for everyone!

WHAT I KEEP IN MY BEAUTY FRIDGE

We are in the time period where storage solutions are becoming next level stylish. So in addition to your organized vanity and beauty shelf comes the oh so photogenic beauty fridge where you can keep your products that like to stay chill! Yes this is not a necessity and probably a marketing gimmick. However, it's pretty convenient to keep your anti-puffing products in a fridge on your vanity, instead of walking over to your kitchen. I did a lot of research when I purchased my fridge on which products I should store in it. Here is my list of what I keep in my beauty fridge at why.

VITAMIN C SERUMS

If your Vitamin-C is a cream serum then I suggest keeping it in your beauty fridge. Vitamin-C is something that's a bit unstable and keeping it in a cool place helps with it lasting longer. If your serum is more oily though, then don't keep it in the fridge. I have one from Glow Recipe that is more oil based and it doesn't go on smooth when it's cold.

SHEET MASKS

I really love the feeling of putting on a cold refreshing mask. I keep both my facial masks and my under eye gels in my fridge.

FACIAL TOOLS

Tools like your facial roller and Gua Sha are great to keep in the fridge. When I use my rose quartz roller in the morning under my eyes it really helps with any puffiness.

RETINOL

You should keep retinol in a dark and cool place. It normally comes in a dark bottle to help keep it away from light. I store mine in the fridge to help keep the product stable and to last longer.

DE-PUFFING PRODUCTS

Do you want that under eye cream to be even more soothing? The chilly temps will help de-puff, tighten skin, and reduce any inflammation you might have! This is why you should keep day creams and under eye creams in your beauty fridge.

PROBIOTIC SKINCARE

My main skincare products are by Tula. I love their entire line and they are a probiotic skincare product. I keep a couple of items in the fridge since it helps maintain the life of the products. It also helps with items like my under eye rose balm for de-puffing and feels amazing after I put on my morning moisturizer. I actually have a code now that will give you 15% off all of your future Tula purchases. Just use code NIKKIAHALL for 15% off.

Do you have a beauty fridge? What are your thoughts on this trend?

MANIC MONDAY | NO. 4

Happy Manic Monday! Can you believe we are into week six of social distancing? This is my 6th Monday working from home as well. I have been really enjoying finding new things to do at home, or being able to make time to rediscover things. Today I wanted to share some more of my favorite things that I have been doing and using this past week. I hope these give you a bit of inspiration for your own home quarantine.

TIE-DYE

Tie-dye is so in for 2020 and people are wearing it from their PJ's and lounge wear, to satin slip dresses. I personally haven't done my own tie-dying, however, there is a really awesome kit on Amazon if you want to try it out. I did just buy a couple of tie-dye lounge pieces and I wanted to share my favorites with ya'll.

MILK FROTHER

Since I haven't been able to get coffee out, I wanted to bring fancy coffee to the house. I ordered a milk frother off Amazon for only $20 and it's amazing. Whether I make my coffee hot, or iced, I can make some foamy milk to go with it. I used this frother when I made my Honey Lavender Latte that I posted last Friday.

BEAUTY FRIDGE

I know this item isn't a necessity, and I could keep a few beauty items in my regular fridge. However, I just thought this beauty fridge was super cute. It's also very convenient having it right on my vanity area for me to pull out products in the morning to use. I plan on doing an entire post this week on what I keep in my beauty fridge and some of the top fridges for you to own for your products.

DOG WALKS

I have been taking my puppy on walks twice a day. It's a great way to take a break and get out of the house. Also, it's a nice way to get some exercise in for the day. I just got Coco's hair cut too since they were offering a distanced curbside drop off and she is looking so cute. I ordered her some adorable bow collars off Etsy, so now her and I can get dressed up for our daily walks. I always feel my best when I'm dressed up for the day.

COOKING & BAKING

I personally think my husband and the kids have been loving my cooking skills. I have had a lot more time to create recipes and cook some of my favorites. I baked some Devil's Food cupcakes the other weekend for my kids and the neighbors. This week I have a cupcake recipe that is light and airy. It's perfect for a warm summer day and will be great for when we can finally entertain again. Maybe you could make a batch and drop some off on your friend's doorsteps.

What are some things that you are currently loving? Any new skills that you are discovering?

HONEY LAVENDER LATTE

Last year, I started going to a new coffee shop near my house called Foxtail. They are a local chain and have some creative lattes. One that I tried a few months ago, was a honey vanilla latte. This was a seasonal drink and disappeared from the menu eventually. Since, I have been trying to make all of my coffee at home now, I came up with my own latte that's even more delicious. I had a bottle of lavender simple syrup that I never used. So, I created a honey lavender latte with a creamy foam milk top (using my new milk frother) that's better than any Starbucks drink.

HONEY LAVENDER LATTE

This honey lavender latte only takes 4 ingredients and is super easy to make. You can make it hot, or iced depending on your mood. It only gets a bit complicated if you can't easily find lavender simple syrup. But don't worry, because I have an easy recipe for that as well, so you can always make your own. You can also always sub the lavender syrup for something else like hazelnut, rose, or caramel.

HONEY LAVENDER LATTE

Honey Lavender Latte

A sweet and lightly floral latte.

  • 3/4 cup Coffee
  • 2 Tbsp Lavender Simple Syrup
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 Tbsp Honey
  1. Hot Latte

  2. In a coffee mug combine the lavender syrup, honey, and hot coffee together. Stir to dissolve.

  3. Warm the milk in the microwave for 1 minute. Then use the milk frother to make the milk foamy. Pour the milk onto your coffee and enjoy!

  4. Iced Latte

  5. Use room temperature, or cold coffee. In a tall cup combine the lavender syrup, honey, cold coffee and ice. Stir to dissolve.

  6. Put cold milk into the milk frother and pump it to make it foamy. Pour the milk onto your iced coffee and enjoy!

Lavender Simple Syrup

Floral syrup used as a mixer.

  • 1 Cup Water
  • 2 Cups Sugar
  • 3 Tbsp Cullinary Lavender
  1. Boil the water and lavender together in a saucepan.

  2. Reduce the heat and stir in the sugar until it's dissolved.

  3. Let the syrup simmer for 10 minutes and then remove from the heat.

  4. Let the mixture steep for an hour and then strain out the lavender.

  5. Pour into a bottle, or glass jar and keep refrigerated for up to two weeks.

Let me know how you enjoy being your own barista at home and if the honey lavender latte suits your tastes.

5 AT HOME CARDIO WORKOUTS

It's very important for our heart to do some kind of cardio a few times a week. The general guidelines are 30 minutes of moderately intense cardio 5 times a week. I know that can be hard to fit in even when we are working at home. So, I try to do a 15 minute cardio workout 3 times weekly at least and then fit in more as my schedule allows. Personally, I feel like it's best to do it in the morning to help me wake up and get myself motivated for the day. So, I decided to share 5 of my favorite at home cardio workouts that are quick, easy, and fun. There is something for everyone from quick 10 minute workouts, to fun dance sessions. Best of all, these are all on YouTube and are free. You can do these anywhere whether you have a computer, phone, or tablet.

Also a quick update on my workout wear! I have been wearing Fabletics non-stop since I have been stuck at home and they are just so comfy. Not only are they great for my at home workouts, but also just as lounge wear. This set I'm wearing is my new April set, which can be purchased together, or separately. When you sign up to be a VIP member, you also get to take advantage of the deals they have like the 2 for $24 leggings and bottoms, which my bike shorts are a part of.

10 MIN CALORIE BURN

Pamela has my favorite workouts, since they are short and you feel a good burn. They also are not complicated, so anyone can do them. As she says, you can always find 10 minutes in the morning, between study sessions, or before bed.

DANCE CARDIO WORKOUT

This has been one of my favorite home cardio workouts lately. It's a quick 15 minute workout and I love to dance, so it's a fun one to do on my lunch break.

10 MIN CARDIO WORKOUT

This isn't a dance workout, but with all the jumping, it kind of seems like it. It's another great short home workout that you can easily fit into your daily routine.

FULL BODY HIIT WORKOUT

This workout is a bit more intense even though it's only 15 minutes long. It will workout your whole body and may be the only workout you will need for the whole day. If you fee like you need 30 minutes of cardio then you could do it twice in a day.

20 MIN HOME HIIT WORKOUT

Once a week, I like to do a longer cardio workout as my only workout for that day. Most other days when I do a short cardio workout, I will also do a short abs, or butt workout as well. This HIIT workout will give you the cardio you need and workout your whole body.

If none of these work for you, then you could always go old school and head out for a jog in the neighborhood. Let me know which of these are your favorite if you try them. If you are looking for some more workouts to do at home, check out my post on 10 apps for at home workouts.

BIBB LETTUCE SALAD WITH GREEN GODDESS DRESSING

I'm a California girl born and raised (even though I live in Florida now) and so is Green Goddess dressing. I love the mix of creamy and tang, plus the fresh herbs make it a fantastic spring dressing. Through research, I found what goes into a Green Goddess dressing. It seems like the recipes change, except for the one constant of fresh herbs. I am sharing with you what I use in mine. But, if you happen to have other herbs on hand, then just throw those in and use them up. This dressing can be used on your salad and as a great dip with veggies.

HERBS FOR GREEN GODDESS DRESSING

I used the three basic herbs that are found in most Green Goddess dressings; parsley, chives, and tarragon. Luckily I was able to find everything fresh in the organic section of the grocery store.

BLENDED GREEN GODDESS DRESSING

First I made the dressing in my small Ninja food processor. It was really easy to blend everything and then use a canning jar to store it in the fridge. But, if you don't have a food processor, you can always use a blender.

HOMEMADE GREEN GODDESS DRESSING

BIBB LETTUCE SALAD WITH GREEN GODDESS DRESSING

Fresh herbs are the base of this California style dressing.

  • 1/4 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Sour Cream
  • 2 Tbsp Fresh Tarragon
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Chives
  • 1/2 cup Fresh Italian Parsley
  • 1 clove Garlic (Minced, or crushed)
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 1/2 Tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 Tsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 Tsp Anchovy Paste (Optional)
  • 1 Head Bibb Lettuce (Optional: Butter Lettuce, or Gem Lettuce)
  • 2 Mini Cucumbers (Sliced)
  • 1/2 cup Tomatoes (Diced)
  • 1/3 cup Toasted Pistachios
  • 1/2 cup Crumbled Feta
  • 1/4 cup Olive Tapenade (Optional)
  • 1 Watermelon Radish (Thinly sliced)
  1. Chop up finely all of your herbs and put them into your food processor, or blender.

  2. Then add in the mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic, anchovy paste, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Blend everything until smooth.

  3. Put your dressing into a jar and refrigerate.

  4. Next layer your lettuce onto a plate, top it with your cucumber sliced, diced tomatoes, pistachios, and feta.

  5. Optional: If you want to dollop some olive tapenade on the salad, now is the time.

  6. Layer some paper thin slices of your watermelon radish on top of your salad and add your dressing.

  7. Bon Appetit!

BIBB LETTUCE SALAD WITH GREEN GODDESS DRESSING

This is a great vegetarian recipe to enjoy sitting on your patio the next sunny day. Also, if you are looking for a fabulous cocktail to pair with it, you should check out my Pineapple Jalapeno Margarita.

I've never been that great at getting my butt to the gym. Luckily with technology now a days, I don't need to worry about that so much. MANIC MONDAY | NO. 3

So, I skipped a Monday post last week since it was close week, even while working from home. I hope everyone had a great Easter this weekend though! I have been wearing my pajamas A LOT lately, and doing some cooking. I am working on some new recipe posts to share since it's much more affordable to cook for yourself than get takeout. Here are five things I am currently loving while I'm stuck at home. These are things to enjoy being comfy and will help you keep beautified and busy.

MY FAVORITE ROBE

I have been wearing my robe on repeat around the house since I am always cold. Plus I can be wearing anything underneath and at least with the robe I can run out and walk the dog. I feel like everyone needs a comfy robe when they are stuck at the house, or even when you're not stuck! Ive linked some comfy plus robes below under $50.

NAIL GLOSS STRIPS

Everyone is freaking out about their quarantine nails except for me. That's because I have been doing my nails at home for a couple of years. Lately I have kept my nails at a shorter length and using nail gloss strips. These gloss strips by Dashing Diva, are basically a sticker that covers your whole nail like polish. I can do my nails in less than 10 minutes and with a clear coat on top like Seche Vite they can last almost 2 weeks. They cost less than $10 and you can get 2 manicures at least out of a set! I linked some of my favorites at Ulta below.

FRESH FLOWERS

I have been getting fresh flowers weekly from Whole Foods. I feel like they have a great selection of free trade flowers and they are affordable. This week my husband picked me up some gorgeous purple ombre roses, and some greenery and babies breath for filler. I will link my favorite vases below that are great for small to large arrangements. I also use wet floral foam and snips specifically for cutting flowers.

NEW FAVORITE GLASSWARE

One of my favorite restaurants in Winter Park has the cutest glasses and I found them at Sur la Table. My dad ordered them for me as a birthday gift and they arrived last week. I'm obsessed with bees, guess why I like Gucci? And these glasses by La Rochere have little bees on them. I have the champagne glasses and the dessert plates, but I would love to add to my collection. I've linked my sets and some really cute bee tableware below.

COMFY LOUNGEWEAR

I am still waiting on my lounge wear from Nordstrom Rack to arrive, but I ordered some more joggers today. I am really loving soft comfy clothing that can double as a walking around the block, or running errands outfit. I have to sit at my dining table all day working from home, so I really want to wear comfy pants. Here are some of the items that I recently purchased below.

What's one thing that you are currently loving? Is there anything that's keeping you sane at home?

PINEAPPLE JALAPENO MARGARITA

Since Cinco de Mayo is coming up in a month I have been wanting to come up with a delicious margarita I can have at home. My mom introduced me to a mixer recently that was pineapple with a bit of a kick and that gave me some inspiration to create a Pineapple Jalapeno Margarita. While researching different tequilas I came across one by Dulce Vida that is infused with pineapple and jalapeño. This tequila is insanely smooth which makes it a bit dangerous and very easy to drink. Personally, I like a bit of spice, but not too much. So, don't worry this is a mild drink, but with enough of a unique kick. I found all the ingredients very easily right now, so it won't take too much and you may already have some of the items at home in your bar.

PINEAPPLE JALAPENO MARGARITA

I only used one jalapeño slice in each margarita and removed the seeds because I didn’t want it to be too hot and it was perfect for my taste.  If you like it on the SPICY side, then by all means, add more jalapeño slices! Fresh pineapple is best in my opinion, but if you have canned pineapple chunks, then you could use that too.

PINEAPPLE JALAPENO MARGARITA WITH TAJIN RIM

The rim of this margarita is a simply Tajin… this gives a bit of salty and spice, plus it complements all of the flavors of the margarita perfectly. If you like things sweeter, then you could use sugar for the rim.

PINEAPPLE JALAPENO MARGARITA

Cheers!  A muddled pineapple chunk, jalapeño slice, and lime, mixed with triple sec, Dulce Vida pineapple jalapeño, and a splash of sour mix is sweet, savory, tart… and well… just absolutely amazing! Dulce Vida also has a grapefruit tequila and a Paloma mix, so that may be the next drink on my list.

Pineapple Jalapeno Margarita

Sweet & Spicy

  • 2 1/2 oz Dulce Vida Pineapple Jalapeno Tequila
  • 1 1/2 oz Triple Sec
  • 1/2 oz Sour Mix (optional use fresh lime juice and agave)
  • 1 Jalapeno
  • 1/2 cup Pineapple Chunks
  • 1 Lime (sliced into wheels)
  • 1 Orange (cut into pieces)
  • 2 Tbsp Tajin Seasoning
  • Optional Pineapple wedges and additional jalapeno slice for garnish
  1. In your shaker muddle 1 jalapeno slice, 1 pineapple chunk, and 1 slice of lime with 1-1/2 oz of triple sec. (If you don't have a muddler then you can use a spoon.)

  2. Add a cup full of ice to the shaker. Then pour in 2-1/2 oz of Dulce Vida Pineapple Jalapeno Tequila and 1-2 oz of sour mix. Squeeze a slice of orange for the juice into the shaker as well. Then shake to get the mixture frothy.

  3. Take a slice of lime and wet the rim of your glass. Dip the glass rim in the Tajin seasoning.

  4. Pour the cocktail from the shaker into your glass and garnish with a slice of pineapple and jalapeno if desired.

  5. Serve!

Let me know what you think of my Pineapple Jalapeno Margarita. If you try it and tag me on IG too in your stories, so I can repost!

MINT OUTFITS FOR SPRING

I never considered myself a girl that loved the color green until the end of last year. When I was in New York for fashion week, a lot of brands were using different pastel shades of green for their spring 2020 lines. The first color I loved was a pistachio green used by Amanda Uprichard. However, when shopping for spring outfits I was really drawn to mint. I realized my closet has so many mint outfits that I wanted to share them with you. Hopefully this will give you some inspiration for your own spring wardrobe. Perhaps this is a color you already have in your closet and were wondering whether it's even on trend, well it's a color you want to keep this year.

LOOK FOR LESS: LILLY VS. CROWN & IVY

I have never really been a Lilly Pulitzer gal. However, I have quite a few friends that really love the brand and either spend the money on those high end items, or hunt for the sales and good finds on poshmark. Personally, I find a lot of the patterns too bold for me and I really like to mix up my style. My mom likes Lilly Pulitzer, but she shops at Belk a lot in Savannah and came across a similar brand. Belk has it's own brand called Crown & Ivy. She took me shopping for my birthday telling me how this was a brand super similar to Lilly and that I could find a dupe for the white scalloped shorts I really wanted. I have now become obsessed with this very affordable, yet high quality brand and wanted to share with you a great look for less.

CROWN & IVY HOT PINK TOP

Perhaps you are a Lilly lover, but can't afford most of their pieces. Or, you are trying to save money with everything going on, but still wanting to add to your spring wardrobe. Well girlfriend, I am here to save the day. These pieces are all under $50 and won't break the bank.

MANIC MONDAY | NO. 2

Woah guys this is week 3 of working from home! The kids are both virtually learning, I have been doing virtual happy hours, and my dog is just loving having all of us here all day every day. I want to say a big thank you to all of our grocery and health care workers that are still out there every day working hard for our community. I wasn't sure what five things I wanted to talk about today. This weekend I was trying to think of ways to get out of the house safely and these are some fun ideas I wanted to share with all of you. Here are five things I am loving to get out of the house and keep myself motivated.

LAPS AROUND THE BLOCK

This past weekend I decided to face time a friend as we both went for a walk. I did 4 laps around my neighborhood, which I'm estimating is a mile based on a track. It's a great way for me to get my cardio in, get some sunshine, and have some adult conversation. You could also just go for a morning run with your favorite tunes if face timing isn't your thing. I have been wearing my fabletics a lot more since I am being more active. They are always having deals, so here are some of my favorite below.

RIDING A BIKE

I have a beach cruiser bike with a basket that my husband got me last year. I pretty much only got it for pictures since I am a terrible bike rider. However, I feel like I'm going to become a pro by the time the quarantine is over. We have some trails by our house and I am now using this as a way to get some fresh air and exercise at the same time. Here are some great bikes like mine under $150.

LOUNGING ON MY PATIO

I recently spruced up my patio and I am really loving using it now. I got new colorful palm rugs that transport me back to Palm Beach. I also have comfy blue striped cushions for my chaise lounges. I sit out there in the morning and have a cup of coffee while my dog Coco runs around. In the afternoon, I like to pop on a bikini and enjoy a glass of Champagne while I sun bathe. Here is some of my patio decor below to give you a bit of inspo if you are trying to redecorate your patio while being stuck at home.

FRONT PORCH PEOPLE WATCHING

So my husband is a big people watcher and since everyone is stuck around their house we have been seeing a lot of neighbors out on walks. There are people doing yard work, kids playing, and people walking their dogs. It's a really fun game to grab a chair, pour a glass of wine, and sit on the front porch to watch everyone. You could even make up conversations for them. My friend Rae would probably toss skittles carefully to watch their reactions, that's a game she is known for in public.

READING A GOOD BOOK

Ah hah! You are wondering what the heck does this have to do with getting out of the house. Well, you could read a book in the backyard/front yard. However, what I mean by this is using your imagination to take yourself to another place. I personally love historical romance novels, so this takes me normally to England in the 1800's. However, you could read about travel, self help, mystery, vampires and werewolves, history, and any of these will take your mind somewhere else for a while. Here are some of my favorite books below including the books from a series I am now reading.

Are there any other things you have done to get out of the house that are safe? I have heard of people doing a wine tour of their house for something to do staying in!

HOW TO LAYER JEWELRY & MY FAVORITES

One trend that I have seen A LOT lately is layering jewelry. I love dainty pieces because not only can you wear them separately for a simple look, but then you can take those same pieces and layer jewelry for a statement effect. I did feel like I was always winging it when it comes to my jewelry game and sometimes would put multiple things together before settling on the final look. It can be a tricky thing to master if you have never layered jewelry before, so I thought I would put together a bit of inspiration and a few tips to make it easier for you.

BRACELETS

HOW TO LAYER JEWELRY BRACELETS

Lets start with bracelets because I feel like many people love to stack their Yurman bracelets, or stack bracelets with their watch. My husband got me my first David Yurman bracelet for Valentine's Day this year and I'm obsessed. It's unfortunately a tad pricey though, so I linked some great dupes and some more affordable bracelets for stacking. Kendra Scott has some really pretty affordable pieces that are perfect to layer jewelry.

NECKLACES

HOW TO LAYER JEWELRY NECKLACES

This one is what tends to get tricky and you need to either purchase some necklace extenders, or pay attention to necklace lengths and clasps when you are shopping. I like to go with three different lengths: 14-16", 18-20", and then finally 22", or longer. This will give you a great staggering effect which looks so boho and lovely. You can mix it up with metal colors, or even textures. Have your choker length necklace be a bit of bling, or a shaped chain and then you can pick longer pieces that have some neat pendants on them.

EARRINGS

HOW TO LAYER JEWELRY EARRINGS

I personally have two holes in each of my ears even though I rarely use my second hole anymore. For those of you that also have that second hole it can be a fun way to wear two different sets of studs. Have you tried wearing your initials in both ears? I need to get myself some N's and H's. You can also pair an earring jacket with another pair of cute studs or layer a pair of studs and threader earrings. I definitely would keep it to delicate pieces. However, every so often it's fun to pair a tiny stud with a statement earring as well like I did below.

RINGS

HOW TO LAYER JEWELRY RINGS

You know has some of the best ring stacking inspiration? Jennifer Lauren, so you definitely want to check out her page. I have been trying to keep an eye on how people layer their rings and then carefully purchase pieces that I know I would wear quite a bit. I recently got a really cute ring set from Kendra Scott. I also purchase stacking pieces from Forever 21, Amazon, Francesca's, and Nordstrom Rack. I really don't think you can go wrong with rings, it's up to your own taste. Here's my stacking shot which is a combo of Forever 21 simple bands, my wedding ring, the Kendra Scott set, and one I picked up last year on Amazon for New Year's Eve.

I'm curious what your thoughts are on how to layer jewelry. Do you like more dainty pieces by themself? Do you layer? Or, are you more of a statement piece kind of girl? Drop me a comment below because I would love to hear your thoughts.

STYLING A SPRING BAR CART

This post has been sponsored by Coca-Cola. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Spring is almost here and it's the time for spring cleaning and re-organization. I decided it was time to update my bar cart from Valentine's Day. Since, it was cluttered with all the extra decor from the holidays. I actually did not purchase anything new to decorate my spring bar cart, except for fresh flowers. I’m always looking for ways to repurpose things. So, if you struggle with “too much stuff,” hopefully, this will help you think about different ways you can use items you already have. I also wanted to share my new beverage obsession for spring, AHA Sparkling Water.

STYLING A SPRING BAR CART

1. Start with a gold bar cart.

I have had this bar cart for a couple years now. My husband actually surprised me with this as a birthday present for my 30th. I feel like a simple metal bar cart is a timeless piece that can go with many decor changes in a household. I also like having one that's portable because I can take it outside for spring and summer activities.

SPRING BAR CART AHA SPARKLING WATER

2. Add some colorful bottles, or cans.

I am a big fan of flavored sparkling water. So, when Coca-Cola came out with these new AHA Sparkling Water, I knew that I needed to try them. I really love the fun colorful packaging, and the uniquely delightful flavor combinations. I found 4 flavors in the water aisle and can attest that they are all delicious. I have been drinking AHA because it gives me a sensory experience with a bold flavor forward taste. If you know me that's very important, since I'm not a big water drinker.

STYLING A SPRING BAR CART

3. Add some fresh flowers.

I love the cheery feeling of having fresh flowers in the house. There isn't anything that screams spring more than fresh springtime blooms. I will actually have a tutorial coming soon with some great tips on arranging flowers, since it really can be a task picking the right flowers to put together, the right vase, and how to get them to look like a professional arrangement. A simple bouquet of roses, or colorful blooms will definitely make your spring bar cart.

STYLING A SPRING BAR CART

4. Add some dimension with books, candles, colorful straws, and a tray.

I took some books from my coffee table and stacked them with a candle to match my blush and gold theme. I used my letter board and created a fun spring saying in pink. On the top of my spring bar cart I used a small white try where I added in glasses of juice and small bowls of fruit to mix with the sparkling waters for fun mock-tails. I also am a big fan of fun colorful paper straws, which I have started to collect. I used a highball glass and added in some pink and gold straws, since they could be used to drink right out of the can as well. Plus, they are environmentally friendly!

STYLING A SPRING BAR CART

5. Finally adding in some pretty glassware.

I actually collect dishes and glassware in order to change out my tablescape, or bar cart. So, I added in some of my favorite pink glasses in two different styles. The glassware also adds some great dimension and it always is more fun to drink something out of a pretty glass.

AHA SPARKLING WATER PEACH

Let me know if you try out the new AHA Sparkling Water at your local South Eastern Grocers.

I hope this gives you some inspiration for styling your own bar car this spring.

MANIC MONDAY | NO. 1

Just another manic Monday, wish it were Sunday. I am starting this new series on the blog, which will be a mix mash of things. I might talk about some of the things that I am currently loving and want to share with you all. I may make it a post where we can discuss fears and thoughts on things going on. It might also be a work wear fashion post for starting off the week on the right foot. All I know is that Mondays can be one of the most hectic days getting back to the grind, and some of us get the Monday blues. I am hoping I can combat that as much as possible with these manic Monday posts!

This week I want to share 5 things I am currently grateful for. This might seem a bit silly, but with everything going on, I thought it might make someone laugh. Or, even make us realize the things that we should truly be grateful for.

1. TOILET PAPER

So we have three rolls left in the house and I'm grateful that we buy the Mega rolls from Charmin. We aren't stressing about getting more until we get down to our last roll. I've told the kids worst case we can start using rags and I'll make them do the rinsing before we throw them in the washer! Hahah just kidding, but for real has anyone had a hard time finding toilet paper that actually needs it? I hear that people are robbing toilet paper trucks. Can you believe that?

Inmate #1: So what are you locked up for?

Inmate #2: Oh, I stole some teepee!

2. FOOD

Grocery workers and healthcare workers are the superheroes right now. I spent about $300 last week at the grocery store, and probably a quarter of that was alcohol. I have to have something to keep me occupied, no judgement zone ok. I won't be driving hehe. Any ways I am really glad that the fridge and shelves are stocked because I live with two growing boys that like to eat me out of house and home. I actually have to keep the gushers on lock and key, or they will be gone on day numero uno. I purchased mostly non perishables, so the New Year's diet went flying out the door. Is everyone doing ok on groceries? I know this can be hard with kids being out of school, so I do want to donate some things to my local food pantry. It's a great time to give back if you can afford to.

MANIC MONDAY | NO. 1

3. THE PEOPLE I LOVE BEING SAFE

We are all safe and sound at home. No one I know has been affected by the Coronavirus and I'm super grateful. The kids are kind of pissed that I'm not allowing any sleep overs and they can only play outside with friends in the neighborhood. I want to make sure my family stays safe though and that means as much social distancing as possible. Are you social distancing? If you want any information on Covid-19 and everything going on, here is where you can get more information --> HERE.

4. WORKING FROM HOME

I have actually been very productive. I created a schedule for myself, so that I make sure I get everything I need to get done for my bosses. I also have been able to multi task a lot more which is great. The dishes are staying done, my kitchen is clean, and there's no dirty laundry. I have been traveling around the house with my laptop too if I get bored. Working from the lounger on the patio is a pretty nice view, plus I can get a sun tan.

5. LESS DRIVING

I guess this really should have been number one for me. If you know me well, then you have probably heard me say a million times how much I can't stand to drive. No commute time means so much more that I can get done in a day too! I would stay quarantined forever if it meant I didn't have to drive. Or, hopefully I will just win the lottery and I can afford to get a chauffeur.

CORONAVIRUS PLUS 6 TIPS FOR STAYING SANE

Surprisingly, I have not been posting as much lately on the blog. Work has been hectic, and life has gotten in the way. However, with the craziness going on in the world today, I realized it was time to be more regular on here again. Since we need to be social distancing, I want this to be a positive space where we can social media gather. I plan on making sure to keep in touch with anyone that needs the prayers, someone to talk to, or just to have some light reading content. I am currently working from home and I think it will actually be really nice. I will be spending more time with my family, my dog will be really happy, and with less travel time I can actually make more time for blog content. I don't take the situation of our country lightly though and I want to share some tips for staying sane during the Coronavirus outbreak.

PURPLE FLORAL OUTFIT SHEIN

As someone who has lived in Florida for more than half of my life, I am no stranger to situations of panic. Every time a hurricane comes people seem to raid the stores and the shelves go bare. The kids are out of school and we are stuck inside, unsure of how long everything will last. I normally feel like a child still in those situations, since my husband and I are not great hurricane prep people and my Mother in Law takes care of us. Now I'm realizing with the Coronavirus I need to learn to face these fears head on since I have kids and I know they need to rely on me to be the stable person in times like these. This got me thinking on what I can do to keep myself and my whole household sane with everything going on.

1. MAKE A SCHEDULE

This is something my office sent out an email about when they made us work from home with the Coronavirus outbreak. When we start working from home it's easy to get off track. I think it's a really good idea to have a schedule for yourself as if you were going into the office and try to stick to it. Take a lunch break away from your "desk area", and take those 15 minute breaks to stretch your legs. This stops you from over working and helps you be more productive at home.

2. TAKE WALKS

Use those 15 minute breaks to walk around outside. Take your dog for a walk because you know Fido is super happy that you are at home with them all day. You could also do a few things in the yard to soak up the sun like walking with the lawn mower, or looking for those pesky weeds as you get your exercise in. Walking with the neighbors and still keeping a distance is also a great way to keep some social time.

3. WATCH NEW SHOWS

I feel like I never have time to find new shows always being on the go. However, now that I will be spending more time in I will be finding things to binge watch on Hulu, Netflix, and Disney+. If you have some suggestions please drop me a comment with your favorites. I recently have been watching The Good Doctor, General Hospital, Love is Blind, Stumptown, and Single Parents.

4. PLAY GAMES WITH FAMILY/FRIENDS

I feel like we have a ton of board games that my kids never want to play. This is the time to set up a weekly family game night. Make pizza at home and then play a game, or a few different games to while the time away! This is a great way to interact, socialize, and get the kids off the electronics.

5. READ BOOKS

I am really looking forward to wine and book nights. I'm a romance novel junkie and I haven't had a lot of time to ready lately. I plan of having two nights a week be reading nights instead of TV. This is also really great to get yourself away from the screen time. Any book suggestions as well? I'm currently reading a romance series called The Untouchables.

6. DRESS UP, OR DRESS DOWN

I personally always love to dress up. When I have nowhere to go, then I start to get into a funk. I'm going to force myself to do a light makeup and hairstyle every day to make myself feel better. Since I don't have the commute or need to drop the kids off at school, I will be using that time to get myself ready and shoot an outfit. I have a love for fashion and I still want to keep that alive. It makes me feel good to look good, so I can still do that from home. I also will most likely get right back into my yoga pants, or pjs for sitting at the computer. It doesn't hurt to be comfy, right?!

TIPS FOR STAYING SANE AT HOME

Top: Shein | Skirt: Shein | Shoes: Target

Earrings: Dress for Cocktails | Purse: Gucci & Similar | Bracelets: 1 & 2

I really hope these tips help you stay sane as you are at home these coming weeks. If you have any additional advice for anyone for us to stay sane during the Coronavirus craziness please let us know in the comments below! Obviously we should save any health advice for the professionals.

9 BOTTOMLESS BRUNCH SPOTS ORLANDO AND WINTER PARK

I feel like I have searched this topic a million times. Whenever I'm planning a brunch, I'm always looking for the best bottomless option. Sometimes it seems like such work to hunt down, so I wanted to share all the ones that I know of and have been to in the area. These are all places I can vouch have good menus and the drinks are delicious. So here is my round up my favorite bottomless brunch spots in Orlando and Winter Park.

DEXTER'S (Thornton Park, Lake Mary, Winter Park)

This is one place I have been going to for years and they used to just have lower priced mimosa specials. I'm super happy that they now have $12 bottomless mimosas. They also offer a large variety of juices. The Thornton Park location is under construction, Lake Mary is a cute spot to walk around afterwards, and the Winter Park location has been updated and the unlimited mimosas are $21.

THE PORCH

Someone at my office told me about this brunch a long time ago, so my friends and I checked it out for a bachelorette weekend. There is normally music and it's a huge bottomless Buffet. The details I found on it was that bottomless food is $25, bottomless drinks are $16, and together it's $35. You can make a reservation, but it's for 2 hours max, so make sure you aren't late.

SANTIAGO'S BODEGO

This is one my husband's and my favorite spots. We used to go here for date night a lot and they have fantastic sangria and tapas. The brunch is a huge buffet that does not disappoint and includes crab legs. You can also order bottomless drinks which I think includes Sangria, Bloody Mary's, and Mimosas. Reservations are accepted here and I suggest not trying to go without one.

THE STUBBORN MULE

This is a fantastic downtown location for brunch. It's a bit out of the hustle and bustle, so easier to find parking since it's closer to the Thornton Park side of things. You can make reservations here, which I suggest doing because it's a super affordable spot and a lot of people go here. The bottomless mimosas are only $15 with the purchase of a starter, or entree. If you try to go there to drink without eating, then it will cost you $25. I think that's good because it cuts down on people getting themselves wasted. Brunch should be enjoyed, not spoiled.

310

This restaurant has two locations that I have gone to. I love the 310 in Winter Park, since I like to be on the avenue. However, if you are closer to downtown, there is a great location there to check out. They have a variety of American food on their menu and accept reservations. I don't feel like they get overly crowded and it has an upscale vibe, without too big of a price. The unlimited mimosas are $15 and the unlimited Bloody Mary's are $11.

CAFE TU TU TANGO

I don't live close to Cafe Tu Tu Tango, but when I am out that way it's my favorite brunch spot. This is a great place for everyone that lives close to I-Drive. They have unlimited Bloody Mary's, Sangria, and Mimosas. You can go to the station and dress your drinks yourself which makes it super easy to get what you want. There is an extensive menu for food and you can purchase both a la carte, or do bottomless food as well. You also can make reservations here for your party. I really like eating at the bar since it's faster to get my bottomless mimosas.

EMBER

I have never gone to Ember's weekend brunch, but I have been to their wine down Wednesday events. I think the location is beautiful and it's a super affordable spot. It's all you can eat, and drink mimosas on Sunday from 10am to 3pm for only $29.95.

BULLA

This is a place that I actually didn't like the first time around. However, when I finally went with some people that really knew the menu, I tried more items and fell in love with so many things on the menu. The brunch has a few options, there is a prix-fixe menu for $27 where you get three courses, or you can order a-la-carte. The bottomless sangrias, and mimosas are $18. I highly suggest getting the gaspacho!

CHELA TEQUILA AND TACOS

This is a great spot downtown Orlando. I love the variety of tacos and their queso is so amazing. It's great for people that want to try different types of tacos, since you order individually, similar to Bartaco style. However, then you can share items like chips, guacamole, queso, and street corn. The brunch is an unlimited option as a buffet. You are limited to 2 hours, but for $35 it's unlimited food and drinks.

METRO DINER

This place is not actually a bottomless spot, but I wanted to throw it in here because it's so good and affordable. The mimosas are only $2.99 and you can get it with, or without juice. They give you a really big pour and they use a Prosecco that actually tastes really good. I order the half portion dark meat of chicken and waffles. It comes with a spicy syrup and strawberry butter for the waffles. It's super tasty and I can actually eat the entire thing.

BOTTOMLESS BRUNCH SPOTS ORLANDO AND WINTER PARK

I hope this gives you some great ideas for your next brunch outing. If there is an additional place you want to shout out please leave a comment below!

5 OF MY SPRING FAVORITES

I have been trying out some new things lately based on suggestions from friends, things that have been sent to me, and just items I felt like testing. I wanted to round up 5 of my spring favorites to share with ya'll. These are a mix of fashion, beauty, and wine! I hope you love them as much as I do and they are all worth trying if you haven't already.

ALL NATURAL DEODORANT

Myro sent me a free sample of their deodorant in the scent pillow talk and I am obsessed! I had recently seen it in store at Target, but I'm always on the fence about natural deodorant. People have been saying that it's so much better for us, but does it work? It took a little over a week for my body to get used to it, but now I feel like it works fantastic. I don't stink and the scent smells so good. If you are truly worried about needed a touch up, then it's a super cute packaging to carry in your purse. If you order online through Myro you can even personalize your case. It's also environmentally friendly packaging, since it's re-usable and creates a smaller carbon footprint.

FLAMINGO RAZOR & SHAVING CREAM

Another amazing item found at TARGET! I had been hearing everyone and their mother on IG talk about the Billie razor, however, this razor is even better! So not only can you find it for the exact same price at Target if you need your razor refills last minute, but you can also order online if you want that option. There are a ton of razor colors, and they have an amazing shaving cream. I actually feel smoother longer than when I used the Venus razor.

MIRAVAL ROSE WINE

I just found out about this wine from my friend Alana. It's actually the wine brand started by Brad and Angelina. I have never been a Rose fan, but after trying this one, I'm in love. $22 for a wine is a bit expensive if you love to drink wine like myself, but it's a great wine to have on occasion with the girls, or to treat yourself. I am still on the hunt for a bottle that I love under $15. My friend Sasha and I spoke today, and we are discussing doing a spring Rose tasting to find our favorites.

SAM EDELMAN DUPES FOR TORY BURCH SANDALS

I'm always for finding the perfect dupe! I know it's not for everyone, but we don't all have the budget to spend $200 on a pair of shoes. I have never owned a pair of the Tory Burch sandals and now thanks to Sam Edelman, I never will. There are so many colors here and the most expensive pair is only $60, however I found some under $25. I own a pair in nude patent leather and I purchased a couple of other colors from Nordstrom Rack the other day for spring. They are super comfy and will go with so many outfits.

PILLOW TALK LIPSTICK

Now I know this is an expensive lipstick, but I feel like it's worth the splurge. I actually own only two splurge worthy lipsticks and it's this one and my YSL nude. The perfect nude lipstick can be worn over and over again. Sticking to the basics is great, which is why I only wear three shades of lip colors a nude, a classic red, and sometimes a pink for spring. I am currently on the hunt for a under $10 dupe for this lipstick as requested. However, if you can afford to splurge on this, I suggest it. You will feel like a million bucks wearing it.

What's one of your spring favorites?

5 TIPS TO GET A PROFESSIONAL HEADSHOT

Many times we are using a selfie, or a cute cropped photo as a headshot, or profile image. However, investing in a professional headshot taken by a quality photographer is an investment in yourself and your brand. It shows you the way you would like a client to see you, which is at your best. Many of us do not think of ourselves a photogenic, which makes it hard to take photos ourselves. Due to this, amateur photography can end up making you look nothing like you do in person. A professional photographer, especially one that specializes in headshots will know how to position you, use a good backdrop and get the best shot of you.

Since social media has taken on such an important role in promoting ourselves, having a professional headshot is more impacting than ever. Every social media has the need for a profile image, so your headshot will have a much more reaching impact. This is why I wanted to share with you my tips on how you can achieve a professional headshot with, or without a professional photographer.

TIPS TO GET A PROFESSIONAL HEADSHOT

TIPS TO GET A PROFESSIONAL HEADSHOT

  1. CLOTHING - Solids and neutrals are the best because they don't cause a distraction. Most people say that you should wear a suit. However, you can also wear a button down, or a crew neck sweater.
  2. LIGHTING & BACKGROUND - Use natural light if you can, otherwise use diffused daylight bulbs in soft box lighting. Also use a light colored clean background without distractions.
  3. POSING - A good pose is to cross your arms on a table in front of you so that you look like your leaning towards the camera a bit. This is inviting and causes people to want to be drawn towards you. You can also sit/stand with one shoulder a bit away from the camera which is a standard headshot pose and gives your best angle to the camera.
  4. FACIAL EXPRESSIONS - Give a genuine smile, whether it's showing teeth, or not. You don't want to appear fake, or off putting.
  5. EQUIPMENT - You will want to use a professional camera with a zoomed in prime lens. This will put the focus on the subject and nicely compress facial features. Mine was taken with a 50mm lens at f2.2.

TIPS TO GET A PROFESSIONAL HEADSHOT

Extra tip for ladies. Wear light makeup, you don’t want to go overly glam for a headshot because you want it to be an accurate representation and to be able to be used for many different platforms. I chose a neutral subtle eye, brown liner, some mascara, but no falsies. I kept the blush and highlight on the lighter side and a nude lip using my new favorite color Pillow Talk by Charlotte Tilsbury.

Do you have a professional headshot?

3 WHITE SPRING TRENDS

Every spring I love to find white pieces that will pair with all of my pastels and have me ready for a picnic, or the beach. Three of my top favorites that are still trending from last year, are white shorts, white sneakers, and white purses. I've rounded up some of my favorite white spring trends (some I already own), which are all under $60. There's something about a crisp pair of white linen shorts that just have you feeling like your ready for a spring day. I'm also going to share my tips for keeping my white tennis shoes looking clean year round. The ones in this post I have had for over a year now and they still are bright and white.

WHITE SPRING PURSES

I have three white bags in my collection, so I'm not sure why I feel the need to add more. However, a white bag goes with pretty much any outfit, so it's always nice to have a few styles to mix it up. This is also why I never want to spend more than about $50 on a trendy bag, my white Chanel was an exception. I did find an under $50 dupe for it though.

WHITE SPRING SHORTS

WHITE SPRING SHORTS

Shorts are always trending for spring and summer. With people planning getaways to the beach, tropics, and New England, white shorts are a must. I actually out grew my white shorts that I have had for many years. I need to get to the gym ASAP LOL. However, I found some really cute ones at Lilly Pulitzer recently right around $60, which then put me on the hunt to do a good round up of white shorts. These are one of the white spring trends that can be hard to find good quality and good price together, but I have got you covered.

WHITE SPRING SNEAKERS

WHITE SPRING SNEAKERS

I love fresh and clean white tennis shoes. This is something that is a must for me every spring and summer. I actually haven't bought myself a new casual pair this spring, since my pair from last year has held up so well. However, I did purchase a great pair of white nike running shoes though this year. So, I went on the hunt for ya'll and found a ton of white spring sneakers under $60 including mine by Marc Fisher that I purchased from DSW last year.

I also use a cleaning system from Kiwi to clean my sneakers. I purchased all three products from Target and I love them. My sons even steal them to clean their shoes. You don't have to use them on just white shoes either, since it's not actually a whitening agent. If I find harder to remove scuffs, then I use a magic eraser on them. If you need to wash them in the washer, then I suggest using Oxi for whites and let your shoes air dry. Also remove your shoe laces and wash them as well in a delicates wash bag so they don't get tangled with anything.

Do you wear whites for spring, or are you too worried about getting them dirty?

SPRING PURPLE BLAZERS UNDER $50

Good Morning everyone, and Happy Friday! There's something about a well fitting blazer that just makes a whole outfit, right? I love buying blazers that I can wear to the office both for dressy days and casual Friday. However, I also love to wear them on the weekend with a pair of shorts, or denim. Currently for spring I have been really into lavender, which was a color I incorporated into my closet a lot last year. I'm bringing it back serving you with my favorite purple blazers for spring under $50. These are primarily from Shein, which a lot of people can be skeptical about, however, I have had fabulous luck with them. I purchase a lot of my trending pieces there and you would be surprised what things in my wardrobe are less than $20!

LAVENDER WRAP BLAZER

Here is how I styled a purple blazer last year for the office. I paired this wrap blazer with a white sequin pencil skirt, lavender pumps, and a matching top handle bag. This is a great spring boss babe outfit. Not all of these pieces are in stock, but I'm going to link some similar pieces to re-create this look, or you could just snag one of these affordable purple blazers and wear it over something you already own. Win-Win!

10 AMAZON PAJAMAS UNDER $25

Lately I just want to wear cozy pajama sets around the house. Bonus, I don't feel as guilty lounging around in them when they are so cute. Since we are heading into spring and summer, I'm all about finding cute shorts pajama sets that will get me through these seasons without spending a ton. Here are 10 Amazon pajamas under $25 that are a range of prints and graphics to suit any mood.

EYELASH LIPS PAJAMA SET

Eyelash Pajamas: Amazon Wine Glass: Etsy Sunglasses: Amazon

PAJAMAS UNDER $25

There are three things I look for when I'm shopping for pajamas. Cuteness, comfort, and affordability. As much as I love a gorgeous pair of luxury pajamas, I have just never gotten more use out of them than my $20 pairs. I always say that if we look good, we feel good. Having cute pajamas makes me feel good and then I personally think I sleep better too. It just puts me in that cozy bedtime mood. Comfort is also key, because nobody wants a pair of pajamas that dig into your waist and leave you with red marks. I need plenty of stretch in my elastic and super soft, or silky fabric.

PAJAMAS AND SYLTBAR ROSE

These pajama sets have high reviews and I have personally tested each of these as well over time. I actually realized I have way too many pajamas and need to clear out that section of my nightstand. Eek! I also feel like I get into a much smoother bedtime/wake-up routine when I have my cute pajamas and a cozy robe. Does anyone else feel that way?

GALENTINE'S BAR CART AND CHAMPAGNE COCKTAIL

I actually really love Valentine’s Day and it’s not for material reasons that many women do. My husband and I both actually don't care to do much on the day of the holiday, unless it falls on the weekend! Why I really like Valentine's Day, is because I am obsessed with everything pink!! This is my excuse for the first part of the year to pink out my house and my wardrobe. So here I have not only a pinked out bar cart, but a pink outfit and a pink champagne cocktail!

GALENTINE'S BAR CART AND CHAMPAGNE COCKTAIL

I found the cutest pink drinks Veuve Cliquot, Babe, and Pink Party from ABC Fine Wine and Spirits. These are all amazing items to gift to your bestie, or significant other on Valentine's, or Galentine's day. Whether you are having a quiet evening in, or having friends over, this is the perfect set up for your next Valentine's event.

My bar cart was very affordable, I found it on Amazon for less than $150. I have used it for so many things including a tv stand haha. I did finally move it to my dining area and put a console table in it's original spot.

5 AFFORDABLE CHAMPAGNE OPTIONS UNDER $30

Ever since my best friend Sasha and I met I have become hooked on Champagne and Prosecco. It's pretty much the only thing she drinks, so luckily I ended up loving it too. Did you know that Champagne can actually have positive affects on your memory? However, a lot of Champagne choices can be pricey and the cheap stuff can leave you with a massive headache, or you feel like you need to mix a mimosa with massive levels of juice. I'm here to share with you 5 affordable Champagne options under $30 that are actually delicious.

These affordable Champagne options are what I serve when I have friends and family over, or when I'm hosting a girls brunch. These also make great hostess gifts when you're visiting someone you know loves bubbly.

1. LUNA NUDA PROSECCO - $13.99

LUNA NUDA PROSECCO

Luna Nuda makes a delicious Prosecco and with it being less than $15 it's such a great price point. Sasha introduced me to this Prosecco since they are local to Georgia and Florida. I get this one at my local Publix and often there is a $2 off coupon making it only $11.99. This Prosecco has floral notes and hints of golden apple. It's crisp and refreshing on the palette.

2. LA MARCA PROSECCO - $11.97

LA MARCA PROSECCO

La Marca has always been my go to Prosecco. I love the bottle with the Tiffany blue color and I find it for the cheapest price at Total Wine for less than $12. This has a fresh and crisp flavor with touches of citrus, green apple, and grapefruit.

3. POEMA CAVA BRUT - $9.99

My best friend Sasha and I go for girls night out to a Park Ave restaurant in Winter Park called Luma on Park. It's a swanky restaurant where everything is pretty pricey. We always seem to get out of there with a budget price tag when we order a bottle of this Cava to share with their Margherita pizza. They changed their budget Cava recently to something terrible that tastes like apple juice, but this can be found at Total Wine and on Wine.com. Cava is a sparkling wine from Spain with a dry palette and aromas of peaches and pears.

4. SYLTBAR PROSECCO & SYLTBAR ROSE - $19.99 & $21.99

SYLTBAR PROSECCO

I tried this Prosecco for the first time when a few of my best friends and I went to Palm Beach for a girls trip. It seemed like every restaurant including our hotel had this Prosecco as their most affordable bottle option. It was $50 per bottle to buy at restaurant mark up, so I was very happy to come across it at my local Whole Foods when we came back home from our trip. Total Wine has the Prosecco for the same $19.99 price tag, but Whole Foods has the Rose for $3 less than Total Wine. The Syltbar Rose is made with 100% Merlot which gives it a robust round flavor. The Prosecco has flavors of pear, apple, peach, and lemon and has me thinking of the beach lifestyle with each refreshing sip. Right now I have a great deal for you that's only available til Feb 29th. Use my code Nikki10 to get $10 off the Prosecco sets that come with an amazing Champagne stopper made in Italy. These sets are normally $49.99, but this makes them $39.99. If you order by Feb 10th, then you will receive by Valentines Day!SYLTBAR GIFT SETS

5. DOMAINE CARNEROS BRUT - $28.99

My husband and I went as a family last summer to Northern California to celebrate his 30th birthday. Luckily my husband can be a pushover on rare occasions and he was up for a one day trip to Napa that he also allowed me to plan. Our first stop on this trip was Domaine Carneros because they had two wine options Pinot Noir that my husband would drink, and Champagne pour moi! I was so excited when we came back to Florida and I found this Champagne at my local Whole Foods, however, the best price is at Total Wine. This Champagne has an array of aromas including white flower, pear, golden apple, honeycomb and brioche, which create a bouquet for the nose.

5 AFFORDABLE CHAMPAGNE OPTIONS UNDER $30

Do you have a favorite bottle of bubbly you would like to share with me? I would love to try it out and add it to my growing affordable champagne options.

HOLIDAY TABLESCAPE WITH LENOX DINNERWARE

This post is sponsored by Lenox, but all opinions are 100% my own. This post does not contain any affiliate links.

I am so excited to share this year’s Holiday tablescape with you guys, and guess what? It's pieces from my Lenox collection re-used! I love their dinnerware & china because you can mix & match the pieces. Also when you go with a neutral color scheme you can use it all year long. Most people have a Christmas dinner, but every year we have a Holiday breakfast as a family and then we all open gifts.

           HOLIDAY TABLESCAPE WITH LENOX DINNERWARE

Instead of using disposable dishes, or basic dinnerware, I used this as a chance to deck the Hall's so to speak. I love how simple yet beautiful it turned out this year! I added a few pieces in from the Lenox holiday collection and they really make the table shine.

HOLIDAY TABLESCAPE WITH LENOX DINNERWARE

I already had a lot of decor from my table last year, but I eliminated the bright reds and stuck with white and gold. Below you can see the 4 new pieces from the holiday collection that I added. I love the gold detailing and etched holly leaves. These pieces are great holiday neutrals as well so I can use them every Christmas season. The holiday 2019 plates are a great memorabilia piece also.

HOLIDAY TABLESCAPE WITH LENOX DINNERWARE HOLIDAY TABLESCAPE WITH LENOX DINNERWARE

Nuts were always a tradition in my Gigi's house on my Mom's side growing up. Having a dish for these on my table brings back all kinds of warm memories. This is also a great way to keep the kids, or guests occupied while they wait on the meal to be served.

HOLIDAY TABLESCAPE WITH LENOX DINNERWARE

I had wanted to show you a last year versus this year tablescape, but it turns out I didn't actually take any photos of last year's table. I am so happy I documented it this year because you can't go wrong with these pieces. Lenox can definitely help you step up your game this year so that you can be the hostess with the mostess!!

You can shop all of my Lenox pieces on their website, I have linked them all so you can find them easily below.

ICE! CHRISTMAS AT GAYLORD PALMS ORLANDO

This post is sponsored by Balsam Hill & Gaylord Palms as I was gifted tickets to ICE! and products from Balsam Hill for my home. However, all opinions and advice are 100% my own.

Ice, Ice, Baby! It's that time of year again, man does it fly. We are only 15 days away from Christmas and with the kids going on break soon it's time to find things to do as a family. Well, this is one of the best ways to celebrate the holiday season. ICE! is back at the Gaylord Palms Orlando and this year it's featuring The Polar Express. The magical experience started on November 25th and will run all the way through January 5th. There is still plenty of time to go marvel at more than 2 million holiday lights and acres of magnificent decorations. Plus, there are spectacular holiday activities and events that are sure to get you in the spirit of the season. Use this as your reason to create long lasting family memories this year.

A lot of times people think this is a super expensive experience and that you have to plan to be there from open to close in order to experience everything. I think that you have to look at all the different activities/experiences and determine which items line up within your child's age group. Here is my itinerary for a 5.5 hour day with a 9 year old and a 13 year old.

5.5 HOURS AT ICE! GAYLORD PALMS ORLANDO

We visited the Gaylord Palms on a Sunday afternoon making sure to feed the hungry kids before we went. We weren't sure at first what kind of options there would be for snacks and drinks. I will say to have a full meal if you don't want to eat at one of the restaurants, but there ended up being so many great snacks and a full bar.

ICE! CHRISTMAS AT GAYLORD PALMS ORLANDO

CHRISTMAS TREE TRAIL - 1:30 PM

The very first thing you do when you arrive in the hotel lobby is to walk through the atrium to get to the area where the ICE! event is held. Through the atrium are all different Balsam Hill trees decked out in different themes. This is a great area to get ideas for decorating your own tree and to take family photos next to. My favorite trees were the toy shop tree and the ginger bread tree. I personally love Balsam Hill trees, my mother in law just got a new one this year and how realistic it looks is uncanny. Balsam Hill sent me some decor for my tree and front porch and the quality is so amazing. I can see why people are repeat customers year after year. You can check out my instagram post if you want to see how you can bring some Balsam Hill decor home with you.

MRS. CLAUS' CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS - 2 PM

The next stop we made once we entered the winter village near ICE! was to visit Mrs. Claus. This is a great way to get the kids to sit down and learn a bit about Christmas traditions. Mrs. Claus and her helpful elf read you a Christmas story and sing songs while you eat some milk and cookies. My boys said the cookies were super good and the chocolate was nice and gooey. Even my 13 year old chimed in when they started singing Jingle Bells. The elf was so funny and Mrs. Claus was so sweet and very realistic. It's a magical experience no matter the age.

ICE! CHRISTMAS AT GAYLORD PALMS ORLANDO

ICE! FEATURING THE POLAR EXPRESS - 2:30 PM

All aboard the Polar Express! This is one attraction you don't want to miss. 30 ice carvers came from China to carve thousands of pounds of ice for 30 days. There was clear ice, clouded ice, and colored ice. It's amazing what these artisans can do. You walk into a magical land where you can sit on ice chairs inside the Polar Express and then move through different scenarios of the train including the giant engine itself. Then there is a huge ice slide that you all can get in line to slide down. Beware though it's 9 degrees inside so be sure to bring gloves and a hat. There are warm parkas there that they will give you to wear inside to stay warm. This also helps with sliding down the ice slide. You make a full loop inside the attraction where you will see so many neat scenes carved from ice. I suggest planning for 30 minutes to an hour to be inside of here.

ICE! CHRISTMAS AT GAYLORD PALMS ORLANDO

SNOW TUBING - 3 PM

With snow tubing you can buy a pass and you can go on the snow slides as much as you want all day. This was probably the busiest section of the area, but there were so many workers making sure everyone was safe that they moved the lines along pretty quickly. This kept the kids occupied for about an hour and it wasn't very cold in this area either which was nice. The snow is packed down on the slides and the kids just ride down sitting on an inner tube. If your child is under a certain height then you can ride down with them in a double inner tube.

DRINKS AT THE BAR - 3:30 PM

My husband and I each had a mulled wine from the bar while the kids were snow tubing. It was nice to just hang out and relax as we watched the kids go down the slides over and over. Who says it's not fun for adults?!

ICE! CHRISTMAS AT GAYLORD PALMS ORLANDO

SANTA'S SNOW THROW - 4 PM

This is kind of like a carnival game, you don't win prizes, but it's pretty fun. You pay for a bucket of snow balls (real ones) and the kids get to throw them at the moving objects. It's like one of those games where you throw balls at the moving scene to knock over things. The kids each threw two buckets and they got pretty into it. It was actually kind of hard and could have kept them occupied for quite a while.

ICE! CHRISTMAS AT GAYLORD PALMS ORLANDO

GINGERBREAD DECORATING - 4:30 PM

Gingerbread decorating kits start at $22.99 for the cookie kits and get higher as you do a larger project like a gingerbread house. We did the cookie kits and ate them as an afternoon snack. It was pretty fun for the kids to take a break and focus on some art while we sipped hot cocoa. There was also a giant gingerbread man running around being goofy. The kids enjoyed him coming over to the table to say hi.

ICE! CHRISTMAS AT GAYLORD PALMS ORLANDO

DINNER - 5 PM

There are a few different dining options at the Gaylord Palms. Some we were looking at were Wreckers, which is a sports bar with a casual vibe and American food. This would have a pretty good menu for kids. There was also Villa de Flora which is Mediterranean and has a very pretty ambience. We ended up deciding on MOOR, which is the seafood restaurant that looks like your on a large sail boat. We sat on the outside part of it that overlooked the water and the kids really enjoyed the menu. They do have a kids menu if your child is more of a picky eater.

ICE! CHRISTMAS AT GAYLORD PALMS ORLANDO ICE! CHRISTMAS AT GAYLORD PALMS ORLANDO

LIT & CIRQUE UNWRAPPED - 6 PM - 7 PM

This is actually a free show if you make sure you get here early enough to get seats. I personally don't suggest paying for guaranteed seats because we got there 15 minutes before it started and most of those were already sat in and there were a ton of other seats available in the audience. LIT started at 6:15 and is a 15 minute show of music and lights. It was really fun, but just be aware the lights are bright. Cirque Unwrapped starts at 6:30 and is such a cute show of acrobatics and dance. It's pretty amazing that this show is free since Cirque de Soleil shows can be expensive.

I was sad to say goodbye to the Gaylord Palms and ICE! because it finally got the kids off their electronics and we had a great time together as a family. I think this will definitely be our own tradition to reenact year after year. I suggest you try it out too with your family and if you aren't in Orlando, you should check out if there is something going on at a Gaylord near you. You can find out all the details and buy tickets for ICE! when you go to www.ChristmasatGaylordPalms.com.

HOLIDAY OUTFITS & CYBER MONDAY SALE

Yay it's that time of year again! Holiday parties, family photos, and dressing so glam. I love dressing up for the holidays. Today I wanted to share some super cute and affordable outfits from Shein that will keep your wallet full enough for your wardrobe and Christmas gifts. These are great outfits for Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Years.

I feel like this time of year is so busy and if I don't think ahead, then I don't end up having outfit options for social events, work parties, festive dinners, ect. Sometimes you don't want to be that person wearing the same dress two years in a row, so I'm here to save the day with a few styles from Shein.

First up is this amazing plaid dress that's under $25. I paired it with some black pumps (sequin makes it more fun), and a simple initial necklace. This necklace could actually make a great stocking stuffer too!

CYBER MONDAY SHEIN

Next is this glittery silver dress. It kind of has a wrap look, which is great on every body type. This is perfect for festive parties and for New Years Eve.

CYBER MONDAY SHEIN

I love this emerald green pleated skirt because it's high enough to wear with a cute high waisted top and long enough to keep your legs warm in the cold weather. This is my twirling outfit and you know how much I love pieces I can twirl in.

CYBER MONDAY SHEIN

This velvet dress comes in two colors and is super comfy! It's so stretchy so you can still be comfy when you are stuffing with food.

CYBER MONDAY SHEIN

This sweater dress can be dressed up, or down. It's less than $30 and is one of my favorite pieces this winter.

CYBER MONDAY SHEIN

You can check out my video of the whole try-on session on IG TV. This will show you a full 360 of how all of these items fit. I shared my sizing above and for reference I am 5'4", weigh 115 lbs, and am a size 32B.

Which outfit from these is your fave? I think that I'm going to wear the silver sequin dress for New Years. You can use my code BF19890 to get 15% offmy video your purchase during the sale at Shein.

It's finally fall, and time to break out the sweaters for those crisp mornings. Whether you are headed off to the office, out to run errands, or are going out for the evening, these are 10 fall sweaters that you need in your closet. I have linked below my top favorite sweaters some under $100 and some under $50. You can easily pair any of these with your favorite pair of jeans and some booties, or a pair of pointed toe pumps.

FALL SWEATERS

1. DUSTER CARDIGAN

This was my favorite purchase from the NSale, but unfortunately it's now sold out. I have found quite a few cute duster cardigans and this one is in stock in other colors.

FALL SWEATERS

2. CASHMERE PULLOVER

I have actually never owned anything cashmere until recently. I purchased this on sale at J. Crew and I love how many colors it comes in. At under $100 this is a great investment sweater.

FALL SWEATERS

3. COWL NECK, OR TURTLENECK

Turtlenecks are a fall classic. I mixed it up a bit last year with this chunky turtleneck over leggings. I really love a cropped turtle neck with a fall skirt and over the knee boots.

2019 NSALE PURCHASES

4. ANIMAL PRINT

Another favorite of mine that I snagged the first day of the Nordstrom Sale. It actually sold out the same day, but I found some similar animal print sweaters less expensive than mine.

FALL SWEATERS

5. OFF THE SHOULDER

This off the shoulder dress was a bit more pricey from Revolve, but I found a ton of affordable options and I love dresses like this because they can be paired over leather leggings too as a tunic sweater.

6. CHUNKY SWEATER

I love an oversized sweater that can be worn both as a tunic and as a dress. I purchased this one in two colors last year.

7. BALLOON SLEEVE

I got this cardigan last year and it's so cozy. I found a few different types of balloon sleeve sweaters that are super cute.

FALL SWEATERS

8. WRAP SWEATER

I started wearing wrap sweaters as a little girl in ballet class. They have definitely evolved and last year I got this one in my box of style. I love them because depending on the cut you can wear it alone as a top, or you can layer it over a dress, or different top.

STAYCATION AT HYATT HOUSE ORLANDO

9. TEDDY SWEATER/SHERPAS

Teddy sweaters and coats are in again for fall and winter. Here are a few that look super cozy.

FALL SWEATERS

10. STRIPES, OR COLOR BLOCK

Stripes, plaid, and color block are all in for fall. I have linked a few patterned sweaters perfect for your fall closet.

Which sweater style is your favorite for fall? Mine happens to be the duster cardigan. I own quite a few long cardigans in different colors. I wear them to the office all the time and over my PJ's as a robe, haha.

15 FAVORITE NOT SO SCARY HALLOWEEN MOVIES

One of my favorite things to do around the holidays is to snuggle up on the couch with a glass of wine, or a hot cup of tea and watch movies. On any old day you would normally find me watching a Lifetime movie, but since we are approaching Halloween, I need to get my fill in of some of my favorite fall flicks. I'm a pretty big scaredy-cat, therefore I don't really lean towards horror movies...I'm that person curled up in a ball covering my eyes yet constantly peeking through my fingers. I still get nightmares thinking about that one time I watched Jeepers Creepers. I decided to do a round up for you of my favorite not so scary Halloween movies in case you too like a good wholesome classic, or a belly full of laughter this fall holiday.

NOT SO SCARY HALLOWEEN MOVIES

  • Hocus Pocus - This is an ultimate classic. I feel like it's not fall without watching the 3 Sanderson sister witches.
  • Ghostbusters - I love this movie because it's only a tiny bit spooky and a whole lot of goofy. Plus there are two versions you can watch, the original and the remake!
  • Addams Family - I grew up watching this show on Nick at Night, what's not to love about a weird, spooky family to get you into the Halloween spirit.
  • Rocky Horror - This movie has such a following since it started on stage. You could even get a group together, get dressed up and go watch it live somewhere.
  • Beetlejuice - Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice!! A bit wacky and full of laughs, this movie isn't too creepy to watch as a family. Boys will especially appreciate the gross parts, LOL.
  • Edward Scissorhands - Johnny Depp has been one of my favorites for a long time. I love this because it's a bit creepy, but also a romance.
  • Teen Witch - Witches and Halloween go hand in hand, except this teen isn't a creepy witch. You will find yourself laughing along with this cute comedy.
  • The Witches - This movie is based on the book by Roald Dahl about a boy who comes across a witches convention and takes them down! It definitely keeps you smiling.
  • Halloween Town - This is a really cute movie about siblings who's family is from a town called Halloween Town which witches and other creatures really exist and aren't evil except for a select few. I watched all of the Halloween Town movies on the Disney Channel.
  • Escape from Witch Mountain - Another classic movie and not just for Halloween. This one is also good for the whole family.

15 FAVORITE NOT SO SCARY HALLOWEEN MOVIES

ANIMATED HALLOWEEN MOVIES

  • Corpse Bride - I bought this movie because I loved the Nightmare Before Xmas and it doesn't disappoint. A mix of Halloween and romance, plus great for the kids.
  • Casper - I personally love the cartoon original. This is a great one to watch with the kids and there is the animated series as well.
  • The Great Pumpkin - This is the perfect Charlie Brown movie to watch before Thanksgiving.
  • Hotel Transylvania - My kids love all three of these. You could watch them all and have a movie marathon!
  • Nightmare Before Xmas - Technically you could watch this one for Halloween, or Christmas. You will find yourself singing along with this one.

GIRLS FALL BRUNCH MENU

The other weekend I hosted some of my girlfriends for a Fall get together. I love having a brunch get together on Sunday Funday and since we are at the beginning of Fall, I decided to do a themed brunch menu. This year I did more of a pink/pastel fall tablescape to go along with my pink living room. So all the girls came dressed in pink as well and I decorated the table elegantly with my Lenox dinnerware. I wanted to share the recipes that I chose for this brunch menu in case you too are looking for something to serve for a Fall brunch.

GIRLS FALL BRUNCH MENU

Tablescape with Lenox: Chelse Muse Collection | Federal Collection

FALL BRUNCH RECIPES

VEGETARIAN CHARCUTERIE PLATTER

GIRLS FALL BRUNCH MENU

I have a friend who is a vegetarian, so I made this meat free platter that was super tasty and filling.

Purple Carrots (Whole Foods), Radishes, Persian Cucumbers, Kiwi, Apples, Moon Grapes, Mini Bell Peppers, Borsin Cheese, Any Hard Cheese, La Panzanella Crackers, Homemade Ranch Dip (Sour cream and Ranch packet).

SHAVED BRUSSEL SALAD

GIRLS FALL BRUNCH MENU

(Serves 6)

1 Bag Chopped/Shaved Brussel Sprouts

1 Bunch of Kale

Marcona Almonds

Shaved Pecorino Cheese

This is your choice on the ratio of Brussels to kale, but I chose a 1 to 3 ratio. I chopped the Brussels finely and filled the bowl first with that. Then I very thinly sliced the kale into ribbons and mixed that into the Brussels. I mixed in some of the Marcona Almonds and the Pecorino cheese to taste and then mixed in the dressing. Then I topped the salad with some of the almonds and cheese. (Dressing recipe below.)

Dressing: 1/2 cup Olive Oil (High Quality), 1/4 cup Champagne Vinegar (add more to taste), 1/2 lemon squeezed, 1 clove garlic minced, 1 teaspoon salt. Blend all ingredients in a blender.

radish & cucumber tea sandwiches

GIRLS FALL BRUNCH MENU

For the sandwiches I also went completely vegetarian. I made two different types of herbed cream cheeses, one to go with the radishes, and one to go with the cucumbers.

8 Cucumber Sandwiches: 1/2 block of cream cheese and fresh dill. Let the cream cheese come to room temperature and blend in the herbs with an electric mixer. Use an English cucumber and peel it. Then cut it in thin slices the length of the bread. Lay down paper towels on a tray and spread out the cucumber slices. Sprinkle them with salt and let them sit to draw out some of the moisture. Then pat them dry with paper towels. Use a white bread and thinly spread the cream cheese on 4 pieces. Lay out the cucumber slices on two of them and cover with the other slices of bread. Then cut off the crusts and cut each sandwich into 4 pieces.

8 Radish Sandwiches: 1/2 block of cream cheese and fresh chives. Let the cream cheese come to room temperature and blend in the herbs with an electric mixer. Slice radishes very thin, but still thick enough to have a small crunch. Use a white bread and thinly spread the cream cheese on 4 pieces. Lay out the radish slices on two of them and cover with the other slices of bread. Then cut off the crusts and cut each sandwich into 4 pieces.

PUMPKIN WAFFLES

GIRLS FALL BRUNCH MENU

I just used the Aunt Jemima Waffle & Pancake mix. I used milk in it instead of water and one egg. I then sprinkled cinnamon sugar on top of the batter before I closed the waffle maker to let each cook. The waffle maker was less than $10 and super easy to use. I let each waffle cook for 3 minutes and it took 3 TBS of batter to make the perfect pumpkin.

I hope this gives you some ideas when you are thinking up a menu and tablescape for your own brunch!

5 SIMPLE WAYS TO IMPROVE YOUR MOOD

This post has been sponsored by Talking Rain. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Bad days happen sometimes. Perhaps someone rear ended you on the way into the office, you ran out of coffee on the morning that you really needed it, or you spilled something on your favorite white jeans. We know, life can sometimes suck. Sorry for that, but I do have 5 simple ways to improve your mood regardless.

5 SIMPLE WAYS TO IMPROVE YOUR MOOD

1. SIP SOME CAFFEINE

I seriously think it's a mental thing—why I need that cup of caffeine in the morning. But, having that pick-me-up really does improve my mood. I've been trying to stay away from teeth-staining drinks like coffee and dark sodas, so I recently switched my morning drink to delicious Sparkling Ice® +Caffeine and it's mood changing. This new product has 70 mg of caffeine that compares to one 6 fl oz cup of coffee, and you don't have to wait for the coffee pot in the morning. I keep one in the fridge at my office as well since this isn't an energy drink and is perfect for helping you to beat the midday slump. Plus, it's not high in calories or sugar like an energy drink or a cup of coffee. I found all 5 flavors at my local Winn Dixie and they were less than $2 each! Here's a coupon you can use if you want to try them out for yourself.

5 SIMPLE WAYS TO IMPROVE YOUR MOOD

2. CALL A FRIEND

Sometimes a talk with a positive person can really improve your mood. Having a listening ear to vent to, or talk through whatever you are feeling is really helpful for most people. I feel like my mood really brightens up when I talk to one of my best friends, or my mom during the work day. Plus anytime I'm feeling down, I just give my bestie a call and it totally makes me feel better.

5 SIMPLE WAYS TO IMPROVE YOUR MOOD

3. DRESS UP

This is one of the biggest ways I boost my mood, and I feel like this works for A LOT of women. We all enjoy feeling pretty and good about ourselves. When you dress up in an outfit you love, do your hair, and just get yourself all dolled up, then you feel AWESOME! I suggest getting dressed up in the outfit that makes you feel like a boss babe and then do a twirl in the mirror. Give yourself a compliment, and then go and take on the world for the day, or night. Trust me, you will feel so much better.

5 SIMPLE WAYS TO IMPROVE YOUR MOOD

4. TAKE A WALK OUTSIDE

Stretching your legs and getting some fresh air can really improve your day. Sometimes I take a walk from my office to wherever I'm going to have lunch nearby. This gives me a chance to get some sun on my face and some exercise, which releases endorphins and improves my mood. Try using your 15-minute break at work to go on a short walk nearby. You may be surprised by how good it makes you feel.

5 SIMPLE WAYS TO IMPROVE YOUR MOOD

5. BUY SOME FLOWERS

Who says you have to wait for someone to send you flowers? Having a fresh bouquet of flowers to brighten up your desk or your kitchen table can really make a girl smile. Next time you are feeling low, head out to your local grocery store (for me, that's Winn Dixie) and get yourself a bouquet of flowers. I love the selection of affordable flowers at the Southeaster Grocers near me; I felt like these gorgeous burgundy ones were perfect for fall.

5 SIMPLE WAYS TO IMPROVE YOUR MOOD

While you are out picking up your flowers, perhaps you are feeling the need for #1 on this list as well. Then head on over to the display near the beer & wine section of Winn Dixie. I couldn't find them at first because they are pretty new, but the employees were really helpful in directing me. You should find all five flavors of Sparkling Ice® +Caffeine; my personal favorite is the Strawberry + Citrus. If you try these out, leave me a comment on which one was your favorite. Also, let me know if you have any other ways that someone could improve their mood! Can't ever have too many.

FALL FAVORITES BOOTIES + HATS

Fall, hats and booties, oh my! Boots and hats become a bit of an obsession for me when fall and winter hit. This year the big trends are animal print boots, block heels, and western styles. Western and Panama style hats are very in, and when it comes to hats I am pretty picky. I want something that is going to fit on my head well, so that I don't have to always have my hand on my head. This is why I decided to round up some of my favorites of both that I feel like have a really chic fit. These are all affordable options that I think will be in style year after year and will have you looking like you spent way more than you actually did.

FALL TRENDS FOR LESS

While visiting New York this fall for Fashion Week, I spotted a lot of great trends to incorporate into your fall wardrobe. People seem to think that looking stylish is going to cost a lot, or they don't have the budget to add some new items into their fall wardrobe. BUT, when it comes to trending pieces, I really don't like to spend a ton. There are some items I consider classics, or staple pieces if I think they come back year after year. However, I really love shopping at Shein for my trendy items that I may only wear for one season. Here are the trends that I shopped for at Shein this fall. You can use the code NikkiQ3 for 15% off till 9/30.

TWEED

FALL TRENDS FOR LESS

This suit totally makes me think of a classic Chanel suit. However, both pieces will cost you only $30! I have picked out some of my favorite tweed suits and separates on the Shein website and majority are under $25.

POWER SUIT

FALL TRENDS FOR LESS

Black is the classic suit, however, this fall we are mixing it up. Suits in general are IN, and what constitutes as a power suit is up to you. Do you think red makes you feel powerful? Then find yourself a chic matching red blazer and pants. I personally think this suit romper was super chic and sexy and with a pair of shiny heels made me feel like a Queen. I get my power from strutting and showing off a bit of leg. What makes you feel powerful? Linking some of my fave power suit items from Shein.

SHEER BLOUSES

FALL TRENDS FOR LESS

I used to see celebrities wearing this chic trend and I never thought I could pull it off. There are so many types of sheer blouses though, and many of them come with a top to wear under. If they don't just pair these tops with a cami, bralette, or if you are feeling really fierce, a sexy lace bra in a different color. I think how you wear the top definitely depends on the occasion. I paired this one with a full coverage lace bralette that fit more like a sports bra. The flower details all over it gave more coverage and I paired it with a high waisted skirt. I'll link some of my favorite decorative sheer tops.

LEATHER

FALL TRENDS FOR LESS

This is a trend that I feel like never goes away. Every fall and winter people break out those leather jackets and pants. I think there are so many ways you can wear your leather though. Here I am wearing a vintage steam punk style midi skirt, which is in a gorgeous fall cognac color. I am going to link some of my favorite faux leather favorites under $30 from Shein.

SATIN

FALL TRENDS FOR LESS

For something sleek and feminine this fall, the trend setters have decided that satin and silk are so IN. This is probably my favorite trend of them all because the fabric has such a soft flowy feel to it and it makes you look like a mermaid on land. I love how you can wear this and look super dressy, or like I did with these two looks, pair something more casual with it to dress it down. Satin midi skirts, tees, and sneaks are prob one of my favorite looks. I am also loving a slinky satin top that can be paired with dressy pants, or skinny jeans and pumps.

FALL TRENDS FOR LESS

I'm curious, what's your favorite trend for fall?

PINK PARADISE IN PALM BEACH

Pink is my ultimate favorite color, I guess you could say I'm a traditionalist in that stand point (pink for girls). When I found out there was a pink hotel in the cutest town (Palm Beach), I knew I had to put it on my list to travel to. So me and three of my best girl friends planned a weekend at Pink Paradise, The Colony Palm Beach. The hotel was originally decorated by a famous designer Dorothy Draper who created the original banana leaf print Braziliance. Her protege Carleton Varney keeps up with the decor and renovations today and they do not skimp on this hotel. It's the most amazing place I have stayed and I will definitely be going back year after year. Pink and palm print?? That's my spirit animal.

PINK PARADISE PALM BEACH PINK PARADISE PALM BEACH PINK PARADISE PALM BEACH

From the moment you arrive the customer service is out of this world. There is only valet parking, so your doors are opened, your bags are taken, and you are greeted with champagne at check-in. We had a bunch of cold items and our room wasn't ready, but they were so proactive and went through and found everything cold and put it in a fridge until our room was ready. Make sure to tip your valet guys well because they truly go above and beyond. We made sure to have cash on hand for tipping throughout the weekend. We also got upgraded to a suite since the hotel wasn't super busy that weekend. What a sweet deal and amazing how they go above and beyond for their guests.

PINK PARADISE PALM BEACH PINK PARADISE PALM BEACH PINK PARADISE PALM BEACH

In the morning we woke up to a free Coffee and Tea Bar downstairs in the restaurant. This is a great pick me up and you don't even have to attempt to make your own coffee in the room. The branding is on point at the hotel because it's on everything from the disposable coffee cups, to the napkins in the room, to the towels on the lounge chairs. You can even buy Colony merchandise at the hotel like pens, dog accessories, and vineyard vines clothing.

PINK PARADISE PALM BEACH

The hotel was just a 4 minute walk from Worth Avenue where you will find the best shopping and a wide selection of high quality restaurants. However, if you don't feel like walking the valet guys are more than happy to drive you for free around the island in either the pink and palm print golf cart, or the white decked out Escalade. Talk about luxury service!! There is also Evian water at every turn, they truly know how to keep a girl hydrated. The restaurants that we went to near by during our stay were Pizza Alfresco and Renatos. Both were Italian, but one is a bit more casual than the other. At Pizza Alfresco we had lunch and both the Lobster Salad and the Margherita pizza were amazing. At Renatos Sasha and I split a bottle of the Syltbar Prosecco and Ravioli. Then the girls and I headed over to Cucina for a fun night of dancing. That's the hot spot to go to for an evening out on the island.

PINK PARADISE PALM BEACH

I went back again with my husband and the experience was just as fantastic. The second trip we stayed in a villa and I will say that if you are traveling with a group of 4, or more, or with kids, that you should get a villa. If you stay in a villa then you have free self parking and access to a private pool at the villas. They are across the street from the hotel and you still get all the amenities of staying in a guest room. There was SO much room in the villa it was amazing and the kids enjoyed having their own huge room and bathroom to themselves. Oh also walk in closets!! Since the hotel is walking distance to the beach we walked down with the kids to see the waves and let them burn off some energy. When they were tired we just had to call the hotel to have the golf cart come back and pick us up.

PINK PARADISE PALM BEACH PINK PARADISE PALM BEACH

This is the best hotel in the Palm Beach area and I highly suggest booking a trip there for yourself. I will be going there year after year not just for the aesthetics, but the customer service, which is out of this world. Stay tuned, I will have a round up soon of all my Palm Beach outfits!

7 SUMMER SALADS YOU NEED TO TRY

It's so hot in the summer and even through some of "fall", in Florida. Sometimes the last thing I want to eat is a hot meal. When I was poolside recently at The Colony in Palm Beach, I ordered a delicious Cobb salad and shrimp cocktail to beat the heat. This made me think of what would be some of the best salads to eat during the summer. Here is my round up of my favorites below, and if you click through to each of these fabulous sites you will find the recipes to make these at home.

7 SUMMER SALADS YOU NEED TO TRY

SUMMER PASTA SALAD - SPEND WITH PENNIES

This delicious pasta salad is light and creamy with the bit of cheese in it, but also contains a nice crunch with the vegetables. This is a super easy dish to make in the evening, let the flavors combine over night in the fridge and then either put out for a get together, or eat it for lunches during the week. Holly has a few other delicious pasta salads on her site as well like a Dill Pickle Pasta Salad, or a Greek Pasta Salad.

7 SUMMER SALADS YOU NEED TO TRY

SUMMER SALAD WITH STRAWBERRIES - LEMON TREE LIVING

This is what I would consider the classic summer salad. It contains a base of greens topped with fruit, nuts and either goat cheese, or feta (your preference). This is the first type of summer salad I ever ate and you can't go wrong with a classic.

7 SUMMER SALADS YOU NEED TO TRY

SUMMER FRUIT SALAD - SIMPLY DELICIOUS

A fruit salad is a sweet and refreshing way to beat the heat. This can be eaten as a lunch side, or as a healthy dessert option. I love the mint and lime dressing that goes over the top which gives it a little something extra in the flavor department.

7 SUMMER SALADS YOU NEED TO TRY

GRILLED CHICKEN SALAD - CRUNCHY CREAMY SWEET

This grilled chicken salad is not only a well rounded and healthy option, but one packed with flavor. I love the crunch from the corn and smoothness of the avocado. This one has some protein on top making it a perfect lunch, or dinner salad. You can even meal prep your chicken on a Sunday and make this yummy salad all week to take to the office, or to make sure you are keeping to a healthy eating habit during the day.

7 SUMMER SALADS YOU NEED TO TRY

LIME SHRIMP & AVOCADO SALAD - SKINNY TASTE

Packed full of flavor with the zesty lime and shrimp, this salad makes me think of the tropics. It's like a ceviche salad, or a party in your mouth. This is a great salad for lunch by the pool that won't make you feel hot, but refreshed and there is no cooking involved. It could even be used as a party dip with tortilla chips.

7 SUMMER SALADS YOU NEED TO TRY

SUMMER LOBSTER SALAD - AIMEE REIN

I have been eating a lot of lobster salad this summer whether it's on an actual bed of lettuce, or a cold salad on a roll. I think fish is just such a healthy and light dish that makes it the perfect summer salad to not feel hot, or overly full.

7 SUMMER SALADS YOU NEED TO TRY

GEM LETTUCE SALAD - WILLIAMS SONOMA

So I still need to figure out which store near me carries gem lettuce because it is my favorite. I went to Restoration Hardware in Palm Beach and had a great gem lettuce salad, which this Williams Sonoma recipe looks very similar too. This is a super simple and light salad for someone who wants some flavor and loves simple greens.

I feel like I included something for everyone's taste buds. Do you have a favorite salad?

Xoxo, Nikki

PALM PRINT SUMMER FAVORITES

This summer and almost every summer my favorite print happens to be palm print, or banana leaf. I just feel like it gives you all the tropical vibes, even if you aren't laying on the beach of an island somewhere. I wanted to round up some of my favorite palm purchases this summer and some affordable items that I think are super cute and you might want for yourself. Summer isn't over yet in FL, plus some people love taking a tropical vacay to escape the winter cold and these would make great vacay items to pack.

3 REASONS TO ADD VITAMIN C TO YOUR SKIN CARE ROUTINE

Well if you decided to read this post, it's possible you already know that Vitamin C is good for you. Most of us take it orally, I seem to have my house on an Emergen-C kick this time of the year with everyone going back to school. Many people don't realize though the benefits that Vitamin C has for your skin and I wanted to address the reasons you should incorporate it into your skin care routine. Vitamin C has antioxidant properties that play a huge role in collagen synthesis.

It's become huge that people are using Vitamin C serums on their skin and they have a good reason for it. Uneven skin and texture, lines/wrinkles, dullness, and acne, you can list so many reasons for using a Vitamin C serum. Vitamin C aids in the regeneration process of your skin which helps you create more collagen and repair damaged skin cells.

3 REASONS TO ADD VITAMIN C TO YOUR SKIN CARE ROUTINE

HOW VITAMIN C HELPS YOUR SKIN

  1. FIGHTS AGAINST FREE RADICALS - In simple terms it can help against the stress that contributes to sun damage.
  2. BOOSTS YOUR COLLAGEN PRODUCTION - When used topically the acid triggers the skin to heal by increasing the production of collagen and elastin.
  3. REDUCES AND CLEARS UP DARK SPOTS - Vitamin C has brightening properties which help to even skin tone and reduce any dark spots. This also helps reduce the spots left from acne.

I was told by my dermatologist that the best way to incorporate Vitamin C into your skin care routine is with a serum that includes ascorbic acid. Creams and masks are good, but a serum seems the best way for it to absorb into your skin. I recently purchased the Vitamin C serum from Glow Recipe, which has pineapple in it. It smells and feels amazing and has already started smoothing and evening my skin from hormonal acne spots.
